First time I stayed at this hotel was last month and I had an issue with the room. The safe didn't work (and was never fixed during my stay), there were no wash clothes and no regular coffee (just decaf). The front desk staff was very nice and cordial as were the bell staff. I checked back in this past Sunday night and sadly had a similar room experience. When I checked in, I went to grab the comp bottle water and realized it was already open and half full. The other bottle was also missing. I notified the desk and they were apologetic and offered to bring a bottle up,but it was after midnight and I declined. Upon retiring for the evening, I noticed that there were no outlets near the bed to plug in my iPhone and ipad charges so I had to unplug the clock and lamp. (It's the year 2013, you really need to provide for this.) In the morning, I made coffee only to find that there was only one sealed sugar/sweet& low packet. That is unacceptable. You provide three coffee pods and two tea bags but only ONE condiment packet and no creamers? Starting your morning without coffee is not good. I asked the housekeeper in the hallway when I was leaving to please put several packets in the room. the next morning I went to make coffee again and there were only TWO packets. Really? Are these that expensive? I went down for breakfast to the restaurant yesterday morning and saw the buffet. Not wanting a buffet, I asked the host if there were menu options. He confirmed there were so I sat to eat only to find that there were THREE menu items and all of them were $24.95 ... FOR BREAKFAST??? I asked the server if there were any other options and she said no. Not, what were you looking for, but NO. Mind you, I was the ONLY patron in the restaurant at 8:45 am. I opted for the continental breakfast and took one of the stale bagels and some fruit salad for $8.00. Not what I was looking for. How difficult is it to cook an over easy egg on a flat top? Needless to say, my experience, as a long-time SPG member, was one of the least accommodating and least enjoyable I've ever had. That hotel needs some help. You really do need to offer your customer's dining options other than the ridiculously overpriced Palm Restaurant. I had to walk down the block in the cold, wind & snow (springtime in Atlanta this week) just to eat dinner because I wasn't spending Palm...
Read moreI had very high expectations for the Westin Buckhead in Atlanta Georgia. We stayed for my birthday weekend and they pretty much ruined my birthday. Valet is terrible. They're unorganized and everybody is running around fending for themselves. Check in went smooth. Michael was a really big help at check-in. The elevators are very slow it takes about 10 minutes to get one elevator and I think only three elevators actually work. The room was nice my request to be away from the elevator was granted. On the morning of my birthday they couldn't find my car. We valet parked the night before and the following morning when we were getting ready to go to breakfast nobody could find our car. It took the valet person about 15 minutes to find our car. Whoever parked our car the night before switched our original ticket out and some personal items were missing from our car! That is so unacceptable! We spent three hours of my morning of my birthday dealing with hotel security and filing reports about The Missing items in our car. Everyone seem to be confused but the head of security he walked us through the process and now we actually have to play the waiting game to see what happens about our belongings. Of course we know we won't get those items back but we would like to be compensated of some sort at least the value of the items that were stolen. This trip made me very wary of trust in valet people .The valet at the Westin Buckhead is terrible please beware of leaving anyting in your car with valet. You trust valet to just park your car and not ramble through your belongings but obviously that is a huge mistake. We will continue to be in contact with valet management and security to make sure that our situation is taken care of and we get due justice for the value of our belongings. At checkout Jerome was very helpful he was very apologetic about the incident from the previous day. I will not be staying at the Westin Buckhead when I am in Atlanta Georgia ever again. Don't get on my post saying that you taking my concerns to the head of the team or to corporate because it doesn't matter. Just make sure you background check your valet employees biannually to make sure nobody just suddenly develop Sticky Fingers when they are parking cars...
Read moreI was a guest at the Westin Buckhead for three nights, attending a conference. The property is beautiful and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, I encountered two problems; first my door was extremely hard to open and upon calling the front desk from the house phone, I was told that there was a trick to opening the door. Most times, the trick worked after the 4th or 5th try. Then, I left a painting that I purchased on the desk in the room, propped up and I left it. Upon getting on the interstate I realized I didn't get the painting and called the hotel. The young lady told me she would have house keeping check and that house keeping would turn it into lost and found. She stated that she would give me a call within an hour. Several hours passed and I didn't receive that call so I called back. Suspiciously, the same agent told me that the painting wasn't in the room, then in the same breath said house keeping wasn't there and that she would have security to check and that she would have the officer give me a call. Hours passed, so I called back and the same young lady told me the officer didn't locate the picture and suggested I call the following morning when house keeping was available. This was really strange to say the least. Upon calling back i spoke with a young man by the name of Deon. He seemed empathetic and really offered to assist, unfortunately, it was the same security officer on staff that I was expecting a call from the previous day, who finally called me back and said that the painting had not been turned in. I was told that the room had not been signed out to anyone else since my departure. Therefore it should have been in the room or whoever cleaned the room or checked the room took the painting. I hate a thief. I take full responsibility for having not thoroughly checked the room before leaving but I had a lot of luggage and packages. When you stay at properties of the caliber, the you expect is that they would employ honest people. The conference that I attended will be hosted at this hotel next year and sadly I've opted not to attend because of...
