UPDATE: don't let their response below convince you that they have attempted to make things right. They provided an invalid URL and when I finally was able to make contact with them, they've ghosted me. Until they address my concerns, assume they have done nothing to "make things right"
In December, we were traveling from Texas to spend time with extended family who lived in ATL. They wanted to try Torchy's and it was a weekday (I think it was Dec 23rd) so it wasn't very busy. We thought we'd be able to get a quick lunch before the kids had to take a nap.
The rest of our group received their food in about 20 minutes but our food didn't come out at the same time (me, my wife, and 2 kids). At about the 45 minute mark, I asked if our food was coming out soon as we had ordered before the rest of our group and our kids were getting hungry - they informed us it was coming out next and shouldn't be much longer. At about the 90 minute mark, we started noticing everyone else had their food despite arriving at Torchy's much later than us and no one appeared to be waiting on anything else. I asked the same guy again for an update and he said he'd check on it in the back. He came out and informed us that the system malfunctioned and our order was not processed in sequential order and somehow ended up behind a bunch of other orders. It sounded strange since everyone else had their food and some of these groups had arrived an hour after us. By this point, our kids were insane and restless.
Our food finally came out 130 minutes (a little under 2.5 hours) after we ordered and by that point our kids were so tired they didn't want to eat anything. It was past 2pm at this point and we needed to leave. The "manager" came out and gave us 6 free taco coupons which was the bare minimum that could be done but we were grateful and accepted. However, it wasn't until January, when we were back in Austin, TX that we noticed they might be restaurant specific AND had expired on Dec 1st, 2024! THE MANAGER GAVE US EXPIRED COUPONS. Insult to injury
Being from the city where Torchy's started (Austin), we had much higher hopes that the ATL Torchy's would be operated at a similar quality and standard as what we...
Read moreWe had business down in the Peachtree area in Buckhead and we'd heard about this taco place and wanted to try it. We were there right at noon. Maybe 10 after. The place was not fantastically busy but I had steady customers come in. We had our order taken and our drinks given and then we sit down with the device that's going to show people where our food is at and the food is delivered to your table. We had ordered two tacos and a fancy cheese dip. We'd also ordered two cheese dips to go. Well our cheese dip came out straight away. Then after a few minutes the two cheese dips to go were delivered. The only problem is after 30 minutes based on the time on the check and the time on my smartphone, not just the guest. We had to ask for our order of two tacos. The food runner apologized but said there only have two people in the kitchen. He even had to jump in and help out. The person who checked us out don't know if she was management or not brought our food. I apologized so the service is not top-notch but you know things happen in the kitchen so you can overlook it.. At least they were nice and very apologetic The two tacos were okay. I don't think they were quite worth the price nor the weight. Pat, they were made fresh and the food was fresh and tasty. The cheese dip was excellent. I would give...
Read moreWe stopped by for dinner recently on a Thursday night, and the venue was so busy! I think the popularity has caught on!
We waited in line to order for 30-45 minutes, and we ended up grabbing drinks from the bar to enjoy while we waited to order food.
Once we placed our order, we were given a buzzer that you placed on your table. There are a few tables in an outdoor patio space and plenty of tables inside as well. Since it was very busy, we ended up waiting for food for another 45 minutes or so.
Once we received our food, everything was so good! We had very friendly service overall.
For two people, we ended up spending $90 for a few tacos, 1 drink each, and churros and chips & dip to share. That honestly felt pretty expensive for what it all was, so I'm not sure how often we will be back. The lesson learned was that it can get expensive pretty quickly lol. That being said, we had a good time during our meal!
We were able to bring our parking ticket to the cashiers to get it validated before we left. They validated parking for 2 hours, and we ended up spending a total of 2 hours in the restaurant from waiting to order, waiting for food, and eating.
Our favorite things we ordered were the watermelon redbull margarita, the Mr. Orange taco, and the...
