To whom this may concern,
On 6/27/14, me and my pregnant sister who are regular customers had lunch at Vickery's. We sat on the patio like we usually do if there's nice weather. Our waiter was Tyler, who was nice but never introduced himself, I got his name off of my meals receipt. We both ordered sweet potato fries as an appetizer and later two caesar salads with jerk chicken. Prior to the salads coming out my sister went to the ladies room. While she was in the ladies room the two salads were brought to our table by Tyler.
My sister came back to the table about 3 minutes after the salads were brought out. As soon as she walked out the front door towards the table she saw two flies in her salad. Understandably, she wasn't going to eat the salad & wanted to send it back. She made a comment to me saying "They're probably going to take it & bring out the same salad." I told her "I don't think so but just in case, put something in it so you'll know." Before Tyler came back out my sister squirted ketchup on the lettuce. When Tyler came back to our table my sister asked if she could get her salad remade. Tyler's response was "Well your outside," to which she responded "I'm well aware of that and had I been at the table when my food was brought out I could have monitored it." He then said "okay" and took the salad back to the kitchen. After about 5 minutes the salad was brought back to us by Scott who we later learned that was the manager. He made a comment to my sister saying "I gave you my salad" we didn't thought nothing of it and took it as a joke. My sister then thanked him for remaking the salad to which he stated "Of course, we should have covered it."
Due to her wait time and having had an appetizer my sister took a couple of bites of the salad and was full. She then asked Tyler for a to-go box. He brings out the smallest to-go box for more than half of what was left on her plate. My sister starts putting the salad in the to-go box & noticed something red on the lettuce and thought it was ketchup, so she tasted it. It in fact was ketchup, meaning they never replaced the salad it was the same exact salad.
Here in lies the problem, if they weren't going to remake the salad they should have said so and we would have paid for our food and left. My sister was going to pay for the salad regardless. She had not asked for a discount or for the food to be taken off. Just for it to be remade.
Before leaving, I went inside to pay for my meal & asked to speak to the manager. Scott came out. I told him what had taken place. I also explained to him that the salad wasn't replaced because the salad had ketchup in it that we put in it. Scott began stuttering and stammering saying that the salad was his. He said he grilled his meat and added a little ketchup to it, then gave it to her. We were stunned at the lie he had just told and on top of that why would you send out a salad that was yours which you've already "added condiments to." After this conversation we immediately paid the full bill and left.
I'm appalled at what took place. I am shocked that Vickery's would rather save $10 and lose two loyal customers who always raved about the establishment. That was our second time eating there in a week. We have both made the decision to no longer support your establishment. We have also spoken to friends, tweeted, face booked and left reviews about our experience. You may not care and that is fine but just know as long as we've both dined at your restaurant, we've never been treated with such disrespect. The fact that my sister is 7 months pregnant & susceptible to illness and no care was given upsets me. If this is how you treat your customers I'm no longer considered one. I'm sickened to have witnessed what me & my sister witnessed that...
Read moreThe only reason I'm even giving this place 2 stars is because the manager or whoever the lady was working the front gave us our food at 50% off after an unpleasant experience. We arrived and asked to be seated outside, our waitress made her way to the table and take our drink orders which were just regular water and Saratoga (sparkling water) after 10 min our waitress returned and in the process let us know there was no chilled Saratoga, which ok not a big deal, but it was almost 2pm shouldn't all drinks have been stocked and replenished, our order was taken at the time of our drinks being delivered and she was off again. As we waited for our food my girlfriend was looking over the tables condiments rack or lack thereof, in which a bus boy/male waiter was outside and asked what she was looking for, she was making sure some hot sauce was offered, at that point he listed off the different hot sauces they offered, which was cool. Still waiting for our food, finally as our food was brought out, my girlfriend asked for Tabasco, to which the waitress replied "oh, Texas Pete is already out here" as if she'd determine what my lady would use to douse her chicken with, my girlfriend let her know she was aware but preferred Tabasco, the waitress went back inside and a few moments later another lady came out with every hot sauce they offered, as if we'd been difficult and stated that she "just brought her everything, just in case" as we ate our meal, the chicken was season-less, as if it was just dipped in flour and fried. During thewhole time we were eating, not one time had our drinks been replenished nor had anyone come by and checked on us, to the point, once we were finished, we sat there and talked more and still no one, finally I got up and went inside looking for some type of acknowledgement and service to which the lady in the front said she'd be right with me. Coming outside i let her know I'd like the check and let her know that the service there was not up to standard, to which she replied by saying that they had gotten busy inside, which I guess she forgot we were sitting outside and seen more people leave than go in. She also said "well, I brought you hot sauce" which I pointed out we asked the waitress for it. She acknowledged that they may have missed the mark and comp'd us half our meal, which was good on her part but still doesn't excuse the lack of customer care...
Read moreIt is with great displeasure that I have to write this review. The one-star rating is solely attributed to the 'HORRIBLE, DISRESPECTFUL, AND UNRIGHTEOUS" service I received when picking up a to go order. After ordering online, I was told my order would be ready within 20 minutes. I showed up at the restaurant 30 minutes later to find the order was not ready. I came back 10 minutes later and still no order. The bartender (Price Taylor) proceeds to tell me, "to go" orders always get picked up by the wrong people all the time (sounds like a quality control issue). He proceeded to shrug his shoulders and tell me "Oh well" we're remaking it over. I should deal with it. I said the fact that orders are not picked up correctly is Not my problem! He then proceeds to start shouting at me and over me. What type of customer service is that? I was appalled to have been spoken to so disrespectful and out of no where. He caused a scene having other service personnel walk over to see what the problem was. When I asked to speak to a manager, he the bartender, Price Taylor indicated he was the Manager! Definitely NOT the restaurant manager I'm sure. The gall of this man to speak to a customer and a woman in that manner was erroneous and egregious.
Another wait staff graciously assisted me with the respect that I deserve in getting the correct order to me. I apologize for not getting his name, but having to deal with the demeaning manner shown me by the bartender, Price Taylor, was so deplorable that I failed to get the gentlemen's name, but I thanked him for his assistance.
Never have I ever been spoken to in that manner before and treated so disrespectful. No one should ever have to endure that kind of treatment. If this person, Price Taylor, is indeed a manager, he should go back to training and with that diversity training as well.
To the owners of Vickery's, I implore you to address this situation with your "manager" and identify ways in which this DOES NOT happen to...
