Read moreI would like to preface this with I have never written a review - negative or positive - about an establishment before, just to put into perspective how unacceptable I felt my first and last experience at Homespun Kitchen was. First, when the cashier repeated my order back to me, it was completely wrong in every aspect as if she did not listen to a word I said when I was ordering. When I repeated my order, she rang it up and still forgot the one add-on I requested. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a big deal. But, I then requested two water cups, one for me and one for my friend which I filled up at the water pitcher and we noticed black substances floating in the water. Hoping these were just pieces of charcoal from the filter in the pitcher and not the small bugs they looked scarily similar to, we started to pick them out. We kept finding more so I went to the counter to let them know there were things floating in both cups of water to which the employee responded, "Yeah, we've had a fruit fly problem lately so that's what it probably is," which is a very unsettling thing to hear from the people who are making my $17.99 lunch. Rather than bringing us new cups of water, we were just handed two new cups and expected to go fill them up at the pitcher that was (hopefully) cleaned and refilled. Collectively, we found EIGHT fruit flies in our waters and we were never approached...
Read moreI found Homespun Kitchen about a year or 2 ago and it was absolutely perfect when I discovered it. I loved coming here for my lunch break every day. Now the app/websites never work to order, you can't customize anything or even just add salsa to a burrito anymore, and they're constantly out of so many items. If the site does appear to work, when you get to the payment part, it almost always ends in an error. I wouldn't mind going in to order if necessary, but the place is so small and there is never any parking (even quick parking to just run in) during the day and definitely none during the summer. I've placed orders on break before and really had a hard time finding a way to park anywhere just to run in and get it. It was very stressful. For somewhere that is so small, steering it towards being a quick in and out place, it really makes it hard to accommodate this. I love homespun kitchen so much, I only give this feedback because I want to see...
