The ladies there were nice but it was way over priced and there were some discrepancies. I wanted pernil with arroz con gandules and potato salad. It was about 6:30pm when we went and they were out of the pork, so I opted for the carne frita. Overall I give my meal 7.5-8. The meat was flavorful, the rice was good and I later found out they were out of potato salad so I chose the macaroni salad instead. I wasn’t crazy about the salad because it was bland, it only had elbow macaroni, mayo and peppers. My husband had the fajita steak meal and he gave that a 5. He said the steak was dry and bland, the beans they gave him for the rice was also flavorless but he ate it cause he paid for it. My daughter had the chicken tenders with fries (the fries were good) she didn’t have any complaints. This is where I was a bit annoyed. At the very beginning of ordering I asked for a chicken pastelillo, when the lady brings it out she says here’s your chicken and cheese pastelillo, I tell her we wanted it without cheese and she stated they only have the one with cheese. Wouldn’t she think to ask what else would we want since they didn’t have the pastelillo I asked for ? The second part is that those 3 meals and 3 drinks and the pastelillo came out to a little over $65. Once I made it back to my hotel I looked at my receipt and noticed that I was charged for the macaroni salad. Because I ordered the potato salad with my meal and they were out, I figured the macaroni salad would be my new side but no, I was...

First time we’ve come here, and we usually stay in AC often. My Dad told us about this in place so we tried it. The service was great, the food was cooked fresh, and it took about 25 mins to prepare all the food we ordered. They were so nice too!
I felt like I was in my mom’s kitchen, the smells, the music.
Food wise: the alcapurrias and empanadillas were ok, the carne molida could have had a tad bit more sofrito, tomato sauce in the meat and garlic, it was seasoned mostly on the salty side, but overall, delicious. The masa was really good, although I prefer Alcapurrias de yuca. But that’s just my taste; spoiled by my own family cooking I guess.
The mofondo, arroz amarillo con gandules , ribs guisao (YUM) was super DELICIOUS!!
-The prices, portions, were perfect. -The restaurant was small, a little dingy. -it was like a cuchifrito place you find in Spanish Harlem, Or Graham Ave...
Read moreOrdered yellow rice with roasted pork (large) The yellow rice was good, the pork came served in a bowl (soup cup size) with 89% fat liquids and juices. The pork pieces were shreds. It looked like scrap pieces from the bottom of the tray. I would not have known it was not supposed to be served that until checking out and everyone's order looked different and presentable as the pictures from others post. Husband ordered stew, it was watery. Alcappurria was oil drenched.
Waited 25 minutes to be served food that was already pre-made. You walk past the food serving buffet thing to be seated in the basement (lower level) They gave us 1 napkin to share between 3 ppl. Definitely will not be going back or suggesting this place to anyone. Highly...
