Excellent selection, but browsing and accessing their holdings is not easy. The procedure, as it seemed to workfor me, involved checking with the staff for particular books. They then checked their database to see what they have, then checked an online bookselling site (likely ABEbooks) and quoted a price for their book. Then a staff member went with me to the area where the book was shelved, and I found the book. Once there, I found other items as well, and was able to satisfactorily negotiate prices for them at the front desk.

Just be prepared for a different experience. They seem to be better set up for online bookselling. If a leisurely afternoon of browsing is what you're looking for, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you know what you're looking for, odds are good you'll...

Great 5th generation family owned bookstore. It is an antique bookstore, so collectors worldwide will enjoy. Specializes in classics, especially beautiful Jane Austen books, out of print and hard to find books. Over 10,000 books to browse through and over 120,000 books in inventory. Wonderful little shop. Not to mention Napoleon Hill Signed first editions, Herman Melville, Andrew Carnegie, as well as, some awesome antiques (including vintage Atlantic City memorabilia). I am currently sitting in my car outside this store right now. I was going to drive home cause I parked here randomly and saw all the books in the windows and was enthralled. I'm trying to find an excuse to meander around here until the open but I don't think I can make it 2.5 hours and I am very sad. Till next time mystery book store.
