As of now Wonder Bar gets a 1-Star Rating. This could change depending on whether or not the Manager contacts me to resolve an issue of a fraudulent charge added to my credit card. I was at Wonder Bar on Saturday, August 24. The Bartender gave me my bill which totaled $18. I added a $10 tip and signed the bar copy and handed a credit card to the Bartender (Valerie) who processed the transaction and returned my credit card and I left the Bar. The next day I was surprise to see $35.06 charged to my credit card (pending) instead of the $28 ($18 bill plus $10 tip) which I authorized. Then when the purchase went from pending to final the amount charged to my card was $45.06( $10 tip added after $17.06 was added to my card without my authorization). I called the Wonder Bar on Tuesday shortly after Noon to resolve this issue and was informed the Manager was not available and that she would probably be in on Wednesday around 2 PM. I called back on Wednesday a little before 3 and again the Manager was not available. So, I left my name and phone number for a callback and at the present time I still have not heard back from the Manager.
This review will remain at 1 Star. Technically I give this place ZERO STARS. Never received a call back from the Manager. Apparently an employee fraudulently charging a customer's credit card is OK here. Visit this place at your own risk. My recommendation is to stay far away.
The only positive thing I can say is this place benefits from having a nice waterfront location. The food is just average. Fries are not included with your sandwiches. They ask if you want a side of fries, which will cost you an extra $5 and then they give you about 2 lbs of fries. Nobody wants that many fries. Why not just include a small portion of fries with the meal and stop gouging customers for an extra $5?
Overall the inside and outside areas of this place looks...
Read moreThis place has let me down on multiple occasions severely. The most recent time on 6/27/21. We entered the restaurant and were told to seat ourselves. Very limited shade from mid day sun for dining which is not ideal. As time just continued to fall off the clock it was frustrating that no a single server even bothered to greet us. Several making eye contact and just moving on. Then a 6 top of people sat down 5 minutes after we were seated, then another 3 top of people, 2-3 mins after that. They were greeted, unlike us, and it was very frustrating. Both tables who sat down well after us were greeted, given menus, and the final straw being both tables; the 6 top and the 3 top both received their drink orders BEFORE WE WERE EVEN GREETED AT OUR TABLE. This was unacceptable and we just left. Having to pay $5 for parking as well was a cherry on top. Truly a terrible experience. The store experience was our last chance with this establishment. The previous time we came and had an okay meal which is a bit pricey, but normal for on the water dining to be fair. After leaving, and checking my online statements I realized they had charged my card twice for the meal that we ate. It took a few days for a slow to respond management to fix this error as well. I gave them a mulligan for this and chalked it up to an inexperienced server. However, this level of bad service, seems to be a pattern and between the mediocre standard fare food, the lack of shade for dining outdoors, bad parking it’s just not worth the hassle. Save your money and time. Would not...
Read moreI have been here multiple times for your years. Today I decided to bring my sister for her 31st birthday. We were ignored by the bartender. We asked for two ice water and lemon and she took at least 5 minutes to get it. Which wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t for the fact she took others people’s orders after us and gave them their drinks and gave out checks and randomly adjusted glasses and a tower of cups before she got to it. We had to wave our server down after waiting 15 minutes because she didn’t notice us. The marinara sauce was watery and usually it’s perfect we got another one and it was still watery. We asked the bartender for a Mai Tai and she never made it. Every time we tried to call her she would ignore us. She avoided eye contact and kept adjusting stuff at the bar. At least our server remembered us and checked in. We got our check and while we were paying it the server watched us like a hawk. We went from being ignored to having their full attention. We paid in cash $24.06 total and gratuity was added to the bill. While we were getting in our car the waitress ran out and told us we under paid a dollar when in fact we didn’t and she miscounted. I’ve never experience racism at this establishment until today and on my sisters birthday at that. We were planning on being their longer and getting some drinks after getting food in our belly’s but once we finished eating we couldn’t...
