Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Auburn Hills

I came into the store around 7:06pm and was greeted by what looked like two teenage boys, one white with a Justin Bieber like haircut and the other black with an Afro and black string necklace. When I asked for a Cranberry Truffle he stated they couldn’t make that anymore. Fair, so I asked for the Pomegranate Plunge: substitute bananas for pineapples and add white chocolate, 2 kids Jetty Jr. and used a free reward for a Chia Boost. All of the smoothies were full of ice (slushy like). You couldn’t drink them & the Chia Boost was missing flavors. When I called to retrieve receipt information and speak with a manager available for a solution. The young man stated he was the manager, Jamari T who could refund me or I could come back and they’ll remake it. I said I can come back Wednesday, I’m currently on the Rd, 50min from home so I’ll take the refund. He stated I needed to be in store to do so and could contact the customer service number or go on the website. I asked for the contact number & he stated they were extremely busy at 7:25pm and that he couldn’t do that at this moment. When I volunteered and asked to wait until they weren’t busy. He stated he doesn’t have that number in store, nor did he know it… proceeds to laugh with the other guy in background and hung up the phone. Nowadays things are very tough, rough and overwhelming you spend your last $20 to make your kids and a partner happy after a 2hr drive. & then are disrespected, disappointed...

The two girls that were working tonight on the 22nd of August was very rude. Tropical smoothie closes at 9, we came in at 15 min to 9. We were met with a girl that said when we walked in "looks like we are going home at 9:30" to the other girl that was working. Then, they took about five min to come up to us and greet us, then proceed to say they are not doing food and just doing smoothies. The only reason I came up to tropical smoothie was to get food and a smoothie and was waiting for them to take my order for five min. Why wouldn't they just say that when I was walking in? Also, I have worked at tropical smoothie in the past, and they always cook until close. Won't be back to this...

This is the only location I’ve ever had issues with both the food, and the employees. I don't know if it’s just because they’re younger, but the girls working the cash drawer taking orders should probably not be the people customers first talk to. Extremely rude, quiet, just stared at me when I asked a question. Made my 10 year old daughter feel weird when we asked if their were any nuts used around the cookies made (she’s deathly allergic). Her bahama mama was chalky and quesadilla box was completely open inside the Togo bag so it fell out on her in the car. This was the first time I ever didn’t tip somewhere, the brunette girl maybe needs some extra training with her...
