Wasn't expecting how it's layed out walking in from outside... They were out of multiple drinks. No beer or wine. But the worst was how filthy the floor was. If it had been swept & mopped in the last couple day's they must of been crazy busy. I got the burnt ends & my friend got the brisket sandwich... Mine was ok but not much of any fat. Usually the "burnt ends" are the fatty pieces of the point diced up which even if the fat cap was trimmed too much it's still loaded with fat. The rub was lacking salt. I did the smoked mac N cheese which tasted like Stouffer's after being smoked a lil. Then I also did the potato salad after seeing some reviews bragging on it... Not sure why as the pieces of potato were on the large side. But only real thing ya tasted was the mustard. Her brisket was dry & needed to be coated with sauce. The vinegar based sauce was good... But overall after making the 20-25 min drive up to Auburn it was disappointing

I have the rib tips and they were absolutely amazing!! It's been a long time since I was able to have barbecue ribs that did not require sauce!! They do have three different types of sauce to choose from and the staff was super helpful and friendly with explaining the sauces!! The sauces they have are sweet, hot, and my favorite the vinegar based sauce which complimented the meat perfectly!! On my way out I grabbed a banana pudding for dessert and that was absolutely awesome as well!! The restaurant definitely has a homey feel and I will definitely be back and bring my family to experience this awesomeness in culinary masterpieces!! Keep up the good work and God bless!!

Not the best experience overall. They were out of multiple items and although I understand that items are made fresh daily, this doesn't seem to be a good experience for customers. We decided to go with options that were outside of what we wanted and were disappointed. There were also two other sets of customers that walked out based on the limited selection. The meat both brisket and pulled pork were bland and not seasoned, the Mac and cheese was overcooked, the bread pudding tasted like eggs, and the only thing we enjoyed was the corn bread. We might try this place again early in the day so that we get to experience other options but not quite sure.

This review is given in 2 parts, the first for your typical consumer, and the second for your Smoker/Brisket enthusiast. I ordered the brisket, burnt ends and sausage to try and I picked them up at 5pm for reference.

For the typical consumer: I feel that most who come and try this place will be very happy with their choice. The food does taste good and there are several sauces to choose from to augment your meal. It has excellent pricing for the food you get. I did try the potato salad which was quite good. Overall the menu provides something for everyone and I liked the look of the restaurant itself. I can see why it has such high ratings for this area.

Enthusiast review: I will address each meat I tried individually. First I'll start with the brisket which maintained a fairly good moisture level during its cook. While the smoke ring appeared average, there was not a very deep smoky flavor. Slices were cut unevenly and it failed the pull test, requiring more than a slight pull to get apart. The bark was soft as though it had been steamed and it had only a mild pepper flavor. My three guesses about the restaurant based on the first experience - they use gas or water based smokers, they use select cut briskets and they utilize the Texas crutch. Wood or charcoal smokers would've added a lot more smoke flavor which seemed to be lost on all 3 meats. The bark consistancy makes it appear that fold had been used. In regards to the burnt ends, I wish they had come without sauce so I could've tried them plain and decided if I wanted sauce on them. I'm a bit of a purist so I dont put sauce on BBQ much. This goes for the sausage as well. Once I removed the sauce on the sausage, it was quite good. It did seem as though sauce was being added to certain meats in order to offset the lack of smoky flavor.

My 3 star rating reflects the enthusiast review because there are plenty of reviews out there that tell people they'll probably like the food at Bo Doogies. My comparison is with other BBQ restaurants I've tried in Texas and North Carolina with Franklin BBQ being the best. If I had to compare to Fort Wayne and surrounding areas it would still be behind Lucille's and Soul Pig in ranking. I hope this...

Of all the years we have been coming here for BBQ, there has never been a single time either of us were disappointed in the quality of the food. The only disappointment is when they're sold out of a particular item we want. We have been to many bbq places elsewhere across the country and we still haven't found a place that could even give Bo's a run for the money. We recently moved to southeast TN and I'm here to tell you that you can't find burnt ends or rib tips in the south. Brisket is extremely hard to find there as well and good luck finding catfish at a bbq joint, believe it or not. If Bo Doogie's owner ever considered opening another restaurant elsewhere, I'm pretty sure any subsequent restaurant would be the most popular in town and even in surrounding areas. All this to say, we used to live locally and Bo's is still one of our top favorite places to eat and we definitely go out of our way to eat here when we come back in town just because we can't get this kind of quality and meat choices anywhere else. Oh, and the banana pudding with nutter butter cookies, I refuse to eat any other banana pudding now because of Bo's. Using the nutter butter cookies was a brilliant...

Sloppy food by sloppy people. No one expects to have take-out containers handed to them already sticky and covered with bar b que sauce ON THE OUTSIDE of the container. Do the employees ever wash their hands or use gloves? The food tasted ok, except for the cole slaw which had no sauce. Based on the sloppy behavior of the employees today, we will never be back because we don't want to ask when and how often they wash their hands. We have the photos as proof. Clean up your act because that is lazy, disrespectful and disgusting.

To the management--- When management excuses dirty dishes and dirty food containers---its time to call the health department. Thank you for disrespecting your customer's intelligence. I am allergic to the ingredients in most Bar-b-que sauces---like I said, the health department should know that you are admitting below to being loud and proud about slathering the sauce everywhere. Like I said, clean up your mess. It's disgusting and you will make someone sick. Your attitudes are just as sick and dirty...
