Jake's Bagels & Deli — Restaurant in Aurora Township

This was my first time going to Jake's. A friend of mine suggested it to me for my ladies early morning get together that I was having for the holidays. I entered the bagel shop at 6:35 am and they were already busy. That's a good sign! I explained to the man I had never been there before and I needed a sample size of several of the cream cheese selection, they have a lot, and then I needed about 7 bagels. He suggested getting a dozen because it was a better bargain. I liked that and I did get a dozen of an assortment of bagels. I also ordered myself a large coffee. Their coffee station had many types of coffee and items to add to your coffee if you desire that. I am someone who likes real milk in my coffee not just creamer although most places don't offer real milk Jake's does. I am sold! I will return again for sure. I’ve been going to Jake’s Bagels for years. I remember when they used to be on Farnsworth. The soups are delicious. I’ve NEVER had a soup there that I have not liked. My favorite is the split pea soup. I like to get the lunch on a bagel. My favorite is an onion bagel (warmed), with ham, lettuce, tomato and onion with salsa cream cheese. If you are trying to satisfy your sweet tooth, try a plain bagel (warmed) with chocolate chip cream cheese. Delicious!! They also have fresh baked goodies too. We just Love going to "Jake's"! On this visit we chose to get a dozen bagels and their "Olive" cream cheese, as well as a container of plain. We arrived fairly early and surprisingly were 3rd in line. Normally the line is much longer. The staff at "Jake's" is very helpful, patient, and friendly. In my opnion, the size of the bagels are a perfect portion. Not small and Not oversize. My favorite is the sesame bagel, followed by jakes special (everything), and the multi-grain bagel.
