This place is pretty good for a quick bite. It's Korean fast food, so don't expect anything gourmet; but, some of their bites will def have you coming back for more. The setting is pretty small, a bit cramped, and a little lackluster (def not a first date spot). You can order yourself on a screen or 5 feet away by register. Their service is always friendly, and with a new managerial change, it has gotten even friendlier. Sometimes their service can be a bit slow, but with the new change... we'll see. MENU: The cupbops are a mix of glass noodles, rice, cabbage, a dash of sesame seeds, your choice of meat (I like the Rockbop - tangy fried chicken, for that crunch factor), spicy mayo, and KBBQ sauce. (Get it about a 7 on the spice o'meter if you like just a dash of spicy kick) The Ramen is "eh" and def not the best. The broth is pretty decent, though, and they advertise it as such. I prefer black ramen with pork (black ramen is always my go-to). However, the meat they use just isn't right for ramen. Tonkotsu is the only way to go for this style ramen, and you won't find any of that here; just some pre seasoned pork that has no business in a bowl of ramen. You can add an extra egg, sprouts, and other light fixings to personalize the dish. What you hav'ta try while you're here: KOREAN CORNDOGS! You can get them as cheese, sausage (hot dog), or half n half. For a sausage dog, try it with normal batter (mochi batter rolled in panko, then fried) with ketchup sauce, and if you want it a bit sweeter, add sugar drizzle. Either way, YUM! For a cheese "dog" (it's a giant cheese stick but better) it also starts by being rolled in mochi batter, but then: if you're in the mood for sweet, get it rolled in frosted flakes or whatever other sweet crunchy topping they have available. It's finished with drizzled sweetness to match. If you want it more savory, go with the original batter and panko mix and the original sauces. If you like potstickers, Korea has a pretty tasty take on those, and they're available to order here. They used to have Kko Kko Sticks, which are BBQ chicken or fried chicken skewers, and those were friggin lish! (Please bring them back😭!) They have a small assortment of Korean and American pops/drinks to...
Read moreWent last night and was super disappointed. I ordered take out and gave the guy upfront my name. He checked with someone else and never came back, so I politely say and waited for my order. In this time I watched a customer walk out, a receipt from a computer and employee was messing with printed shortly after he left and I overheard the employees explain to each other that was the customer who walked outs order. Afterward, I heard the employees tell customers they were out of beef and chicken, at which point I asked about my order since it had chicken. The employee than checked and handed me a bag that had been sitting there the whole time I had been inside. Once I got home, I noticed the bowls were nothing but noodles and the protein, no rice or cabbage. My pot stickers were also a bit burnt and the kimchi side is incredibly small. Overall, My roommate and I were pretty disappointed with what we paid for but I wouldn't blame the staff. They were all very polite and that first guy seemed confused. It seems they were overwhelmed, undertrained, and not given the supplies they needed for a Saturday night in a busy area, this was all an hour before closing. Overall, I'd have to say I wouldn't recommend going here, especially considering all the options surrounding it. Regional management really needs to put more work into this place and better evaluate...
Read moreI've been to Cupbop often and this time was...the worst. My best friend and I went yesterday and everything was good but out of four people in the store, only one person looked like they bothered to do any sort of work and helped us. However, she wasn't wearing a hat and hesitated before putting gloves on. Two other workers came out to look at what was happening before going back to the back, one of them not wearing a hat either, and finally a third one came out to help with the bagging process since the first worker was going slowly.
That's not even the worst of it. We had the mandoo in the car on our way to our destination and it tasted like it had been sitting out for hours instead of it just being made fresh since it barely takes two minutes. When we finally got to eat, there was so much pepper in the rice that it ruined the whole bowl. My friend even found a hair in her food that didn't belong to either of us. Not to mention that the rock chicken also tasted stale. Pity that we're most likely never returning because of such a bad experience that we've never had before, but it must be from the extremely high turnover rate that Cupbop obviously has because I've never seen any of these workers before ever, and they obviously don't know what...
