1/28/23-This is one of those places that reinforces just how bad gluten-free baked goods can be. We tried three different things to really give them a chance. The first was vanilla eggnog parfait. There was nothing eggnog about it. The cake in it was super dry and there was a lot of cinnamon in it. Eggnog should not have cinnamon in it, but if any spice should dominate, it should be nutmeg. This was a very basic mistake for someone running a business to make. If you label a product as being a specific flavor then it should be that flavor. The parfait was more of a snickerdoodle then anything resembling eggnog. Then there was the sugar cookie with cherry frosting. The first thing about the frosting was that it was broken. Another basic mistake. Also the cherry flavoring was not mixed through evenly which led to some very bland bites. The cookie itself had a horrible dense consistency managing to be too dry and slimy at the same time. The best item was the cranberry white chocolate scone. It wasn't that good though. They did not have enough of the cranberry or white chocolate in it so you got some very bland bites in it and the texture was way off from a scone. For these baked goods they were way over priced for if the product was good. A frosted sugar cookie should not be $7, but about 3-4ish if of a good quality. I've had better products for cheaper at high school bake sales then at this place. Bad products for high cost. Just go elsewhere.

Met friends on a Tuesday PM at Parkside Eatery to play pool. Gina’s Kitchen is a vegan and GF friendly eatery & bakery. I ordered 4 vegan desserts: 2 different styles of the Doorbell (Gina’s twist on a ding dong, get it?), 1 hardshell chocolate coated Twinkie-like dessert, and 1 white chocolate raspberry filled dessert. WOW. Gluten free, dairy free, nut free…FULL OF FLAVOR!! Gina was working the night we visited and she came over to chat with us at the pool table, offering samples of her vegan take on a rolo. If you like rolos, you’ll LOVE this vegan version!! Gina was friendly and welcoming; she clearly loves what she does! She even joined in on our dancing once we all took our first bite of the vegan rolo — it was fun to enjoy her food & her company:) Gina’s Kitchen hosts karaoke every other Saturday at the Parkside Eatery (which has a handful of eatery vendors and a bar with a shared seating area). We’re excited to check it out! Parkside Eatery is officially on our list of places to meet up. The food was great, the bar & bartender were great, and the vibe was great. So glad to find a vegan eatery with some meat options for my non-veg friends. (Oh! And if you go at night, make sure to check out the rainbow lit stepping stones outside the door to Gina’s Kitchen!!)

I saw Gina on the news talking about loss of business and did not realize they were new to the neighborhood. Today I came in first thing this morning as Tim was opening store. He was really nice and allowed me to try some of their delicious door bells. Gina came in shortly after She was just as nice! They both answered questions that I had pertaining to their sweet treats. My wife has celiacs disease and to be able to now come to Gina’s kitchen and pick up any GF option is incredible! Besides deserts they also have fresh, moist bread and GF noodles. The atmosphere was very warm. They had a neat mural that was also painted on their wall. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone regardless if you have celiac disease or not. Such yummy treats and greater people. Lastly my wife loved everything from the ‘Lady Gator’ to the ‘Door Bell’ as well as the ‘Crème Cake’. I had and loved their banana walnut cake. So yummy. I will definitely be back! Welcome to the neighborhood!

I went today (the cashier was Gabe, shout out to Gabe, he was so kind! 10/10 on customer service!!! I didn’t know what to get he helped me pick a GREAT lunch, AND he’s an artist- he was selling earrings and soap there. And his y-2k manicure with yingyang sign was so adorable!) anyhoo back to Gina! It’s Gluten Free and Vegan (but some things aren’t vegan—) some haters I’m sure ((as I posted a review on Facebook and got hate for that)) but like not everyone is vegan so that’s a pro in my opinion, meaning anyone can find something delicious there! I got a sandwich with portobello mushroom, cheese all things- I think it was the tuna melt but not made with tuna, but mushroom. It was seasoned well I think the mushroom was marinated. The cheese was fire (vegan cheez). Then I got a brownie. The brownie did contain honey (which makes the vegan police heated) but Gina has it shaped as all of it is an edge piece! It was SO good- crunchy and moist (I ate it while I was waiting on the prep of my sandwich and I considered ordering another to actually take home.) The vibe is good there, you can chill, study, have a cute little date there. There’s much more baked goods than what I described the whole case is vegan! So like truffles, some cupcakes, some cookies— literally Aurora is a desert for vegan food and I have no idea how I lived this long with out this gem! I will definitely...

Gina has done so much for the community this last week, and is so personable.

About a month ago my soon to be daughter in law, grandson and I went to talk to her about wedding cakes. She took her time and was so patient with us. She sold us right away in picking her to do the wedding cake just because of how she listened to every detail.

Feel so bad for her. She moved in the community right where there was a devastating apartment explosion. She is also having to deal with the aftermath of this explosion and right away stepped up that day and served the residents baked goods. A week later these people in the apartment complex had to go and move all their belongings out. She came to the need again and had baked goods and coffee for everyone. She came out and talked to everyone. I went over to thank her and she remembered my daughter in law and grandsons name. She said she feels so bad for all the residents and is losing 400 friends of the community due to the apartment complex explosion. She even remembered other residents names and it just made me feel so good to see how personable she is.

We will for sure be coming here and supporting her business. Can’t wait to try more of her baked goods. Her banana bread was amazing and can’t wait to see the cake she will be making for our son and future daughter in laws wedding.

Thank you...
