Goku Hibachi Express — Restaurant in Aurora

I'm really disappointed with this place.

I have loved and big a big supporter of this place for several years. I have gotten them a lot of new regular customers and made several orders from them.

Tonight, I made an order from them and the driver accidentally picked up and brought an order from Chipotle. Not that big of a deal, mistakes happen. I talked to the driver and he seemed to think I should call Goku. I did. Goku told me to call DoorDash, even though they were a third party and I didn't have any kind of DoorDash order number or anything.

I called DoorDash. The DoorDash person said they would call Goku and look into it, and I never heard from anyone again. I paid over $30 (for one person) for Goku to send me no food, and push responsibility onto DoorDash rather than try to fix a pretty basic mistake for someone who has been a customer for years.

I got no refund. I got no food.

It's sad to see a place treat someone like this for no reason.

I ended up ordering a pizza since Goku and DoorDash never got back to me. Thanks to Goku, I spent almost $60 on my total dinner tonight, for a small pizza.

I keep having to update this review because Goku just keeps making it worse. Now, without anyone telling me, over an hour later, I'm getting all of these text messages that Goku is now sending more food. It's going to come more than 30 minutes after the replacement order I made from a different restaurant, and it's clearly just their way to make sure they don'e have to refund my order and ensure I waste a bunch of money on food I don't want.

I just called DoorDash again to get them to refund the order and the woman hung up on me. Ordering food shouldn't be this much of a nightmare. What is wrong with these people?

Do not judge this place by just driving by as I’ve done multiple times. I did a search for food near me and this place popped up. I thought hmmm let’s see what people actually think about the food. After reading so many good reviews from many different ethnic groups I decided to order for lunch. First off the website is very easy to navigate and let’s you know when to expect your order to be ready or arrange for a specific time. Now the area is not the best but the inside of this establishment is nice and clean very welcoming. Customer service was amazing a simple hi and a smile goes a long way. When I got home with the food for the whole family and opened my trays to eat I was very pleased. I ordered steak and chicken with a side of shrimp. I thought the steak could use a hint of extra seasoning but I’m sure they can be a special request for next time. I poured some of the yum yum yum sauce all over my food and was in heaven. I highly recommend giving this place a try as I will be back again soon. Give this place a bar and Benihana might be in trouble. Great food Great price...

1st Visit

Former Kirk's (soul food) and the place has definitely turned around in terms of ambiance.

Spartan, minimalist, CLEAN, no fuss dining aesthetics. Black, red, white tones, very common in most Japanese food establishments.

Dined on a weekday, early afternoon, no wait.

Ordered the Ribeye/Shrimp combo with Fried Rice and I knew it was going to be 👍 as the smell from food being prepared was totally making my mouth water and my tummy grumbling.

In a very short time, my food was ready and as I opened it, smoke was still coming from the food.

5-⭐ everything (!) and I do mean, everything was delicious!!!! From the fried rice, to the vegetables & definitely, the Ribeye and the Shrimp!

Portion and more importantly, taste justifies dining here.

Guaranteed (!), many more visits to come.
