I like this place, but they need to be consistent in their meal preparation. I have been coming here for quite a while in both locations asking for a specific item. They were both right on the money until I paid the Aurora store a visit about three weeks ago. I asked for my regular item, which comes with cheese, sour cream, and steak meat as toppings... This particular day when I ordered this item, when I got to my destination I discovered that they added a ton of things that I didn't like, ask for, or want, especially when I was at the drive through window and indicated that all I wanted on my item was sour cream, cheese, and steak meat... These employees piled on beans, Pico de Gallo, onions, tomatoes, etc. I was really angry about that because for one, I purchased more than one of this particular item, and they did the same thing to both... And for two, I ordered them in this particular way with no veggies and all the extras because if I don't get home before the meal items get cold, I can reheat them without worrying about wilted and slimy veggies in my food. Other than that, it's a great place to eat. From now on, I will double check to see if me order is done correctly before I pull away from the drive through window, I hope that doesn't get you guys...
Read moreWorst restaurant I've ever reviewed in my travels. I watched 2 groups in front of me leave without food due to the horrible cashiers. I tried to order and the guy was just writing stuff down then said an amount that was 3 times the menu price #6 combo $11.98, 1 churro $2.20, 1 medium fountain drink $2.38 that equals like $16.56 not including tax....he told me I owed $29.80! Almost double, I politely explained how that didn't seem right so he dropped it to $28.80. IM NOT NEGOTIATING! I'm trying to pay menu price. I was as patient as possible but after 10 min of him scratching his ass pretending not to understand me even when I spoke in Spanish no comprede! I was like never mind and without missing a heart beat in perfect English "okay that's fine with me" I was like whatever. My friend who did somehow get food despite the cashier sending away three ppl they said the food was meh then we drove to my house as they have no public restroom, while we waited for my friends tires where they had to throw up the food as it had no desire to stay in their stomach. So please ppl I beg you, although it seems convenient avoid the food poisoning and racism and just walk to the other restaurants near by. You don't really wanna crap your pants while waiting for...
Read moreMy fiancé and I have eaten here several times over the past four years. The prices have been good, the food has been great. Last night, however, we noticed a few changes… the prices have increased, and some of the menu items seem to have changed, almost as if some new management has taken over or something. I ordered an enchilada plate like I always have, with beef. What I received was nothing like the enchiladas I have received in the past. These were corn tortillas filled with grilled vegetables and one single sliver (1 inch x 1/2 inch) of beef. I asked the front counter what was up with this, and he acted like that was the norm. He checked with the cooks, and they all refused to make it right. I gave them their food back and we left. I will never set foot in that place ever again, and will be sure to let all my friends and acquaintances know that this Taco Star is no longer what they used to be, and that they refuse to remedy their mistakes. If you order enchiladas from this place, be prepared for a heaping helping of grilled vegetables instead. This used to be a great place with great food. Such a heartbreaking...
