Unfortunately, this is not positive review. Today, my family and I had a very unpleasant experience at Pluckers (Linc location). I hate to be “that person,” but I feel this experience needs to be shared and brought to management’s attention. Unfortunately, our recent visits to Pluckers have not met the standards we’ve come to expect.
First, let me say that my family and I love Pluckers! It’s my husband’s and boys’ favorite place to eat but after today this restaurant will not be our go to anymore!
After my son’s soccer game, we decided to visit Pluckers. I used the app to check wait times and noticed the Linc location had no wait. We headed that way, and I added us to the waitlist as a precaution.
We arrived around 7:14 PM and were seated promptly. Our server greeted us within 10 minutes, took our drink orders, and placed our food order by 7:31 PM.
Here’s what we ordered: • 20-piece Buffalo Hot Wings • 2 baskets of fries • Kids’ meal Buffalo Bites with waffle fries • Kids’ meal wings with waffle fries • 2 waters • 2 tall Modelos
Shortly after ordering, I asked our server if it was too late to change my meal (kids’ meal wings and waffle fries). She checked and said it was fine since the kitchen hadn’t started. I changed my order to a Bypass Burger with tater tots, requesting cheese on top.
Our drinks were brought out shortly after placing the order. Part of our food arrived around 7:45 PM: the kids’ meal Buffalo Bites with waffle fries and the 20-piece Buffalo Hot Wings. The server who brought the food mentioned that the two baskets of fries were still cooking but said nothing about my burger.
By 7:58 PM, the fries arrived—13 minutes later. Unfortunately, by this time, my husband and sons had nearly finished their food, and the fries were no longer relevant since they wanted to enjoy them with the wings. I then asked our server about my burger, and she said she’d check. Before leaving, my husband ordered another Modelo.
At 8:12 PM, my burger and tots were brought out. However, the tater tots were incorrect, covered with cheese, jalapeños, and sour cream, even though I had only requested cheese. Additionally, my burger was cold.
Our server apologized and offered to take the food back to correct it. By 8:37 PM, I still had not received my meal, so I went to the front and asked to speak with someone. I explained what had happened: • Part of our order was missing or delayed. • The fries arrived over 10 minutes late. • My burger was prepared incorrectly and still had not been brought out after 30 minutes.
The staff member I spoke with said they would find my server.
Our server eventually returned, and I explained everything again. At this point, the additional Modelo my husband ordered still had not arrived. I told her I no longer wanted my food as my family was done eating, and the experience was beyond frustrating. She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager, and I said yes.
The manager came to our table but did not introduce himself. He simply asked what we needed. I explained the situation, and he responded that he would speak with the server and kitchen to coach them. Unfortunately, his response felt dismissive and lacked empathy, especially considering the restaurant was not busy.
My family and I visit Pluckers at least twice a month, spending $150–$180 per visit on food and drinks. That’s a significant amount, especially in today’s economy, where dining out is a privilege.
I’m sharing this story in hopes that Pluckers improves its staff training and customer service. Mistakes happen—we’re all human—but lately, our experiences have been very...
Read moreI normally ever Write reviews however I am now.... This is by far the worst experience that I have ever had with Pluckers and I'm almost a million percent that I won't ever be back. So a family member of mine had a little birthday dinner at the newest location off 35 & 290... I arrived approximately 1 ½ hours later than everyone and they were already eating. I pulled up a chair and placed a order for myself and my 3 year old son and I told the waiter that our food was separate and he understood. Anyways when my food finally came out everyone else was starting to pay for their food. Remind you I only knew of one person at the dinner which was my cousin that's it and everyone else was her family on her mom's side.... Well as we are sitting there finishing our food people started leaving and once they leave the waiter comes back and is like someone didn't pay their ticket. The waiter Hubert handed me my ticket and I reviewed it with him and it was $27.33 so I paid that with my card. Hubert the waiter could not figure out why he had another ticket that had not been paid. The waiter brought me back my receipt and I signed the merchant copy. Now at this time they could no figure out who didn't pay for their food so the manager Meghan comes to the table and she let's us know that someone owed the amount of $106. And I let her know that I just paid for my order so I have no clue who as to who didn't pay. My cousin is sitting across from me with her receipt as well . The Manager was very rude and she told my cousin well.someone is gonna have to pay for this order and she is gonna charge the last card used. And they are calling the police. I let her know not to charge anything of mine becuz I was invited and I don't even know the names of the people that were sitting at the end of the table. Long story short my cousin told the manager that she will call the other parties to come back. At this time it was getting really late and I had my 3 year old son with me. I talked to the waiter Hubert and he told me i was good to go because I took care of my order and I got there late. I left and by the time I made it to my destination I got an txt message saying I was charged $100.99 from pluckers. So I called the establishment and explained what was going on and I didn't get anywhere. The manager Gabrielle told me that his GM Meghan said to pick a card to charge for that balance. I explained the situation over and over to Gabrielle and I didn't understand why I was being charged especially after I left the establishment and had been gone a while after paying for my order. This is unacceptable and I understand that someone was irresponsible and didn't pay for their meal like an adult. However what does that have to do with me? And how can you charge me without authorization especially after the waiter told me it was ok to go? I am contacting my bank to stop payment for the $100.99 because I only authorized $27.33.... I normally eat at pluckers 2 times a week on my lunch break but after this I WILL...
Read moreHi guys! I came today to get my favorite wings in the whole city but I noticed something different so sadly I have to give for the first time a very low rate :(
As soon as I got assigned for a table the gentleman who lead us to our table felt a little rude with us sliding our basket with silverware and menus. I didn’t want to say anything about it. My history goes a little bit further.
As a regular customer (I live in the neighborhood 2 block away), this is the first time me and my wife felt uncomfortable.
When our server came to take our order we asked for a margarita and a Batman drink, she instantly asked for our ID’s (which is fine under Texas law), we showed ours and mine was fine but as soon as my wife showed her Visa (an US government issued document inside her passport) she was commenting us that she can’t take that as an ID unless it is a passport, so we just flip the page and showed her the passport page. Me and my wife noticed that the tables next to us were asking at same time for drinks were not asked for any ID.
It felt more like the server were asking us for our immigration status or ID to corroborate that we’re legal instead of we’re old enough to get some drinks. (It is funny because we don’t look younger).
When the delicious food came to our table, our server pretended to be careful but kinda rushing us, in the middle of our meal while my wife was eating her wing, the server asked us if we want a box to go so we started to feel uncomfortable and incredible rushed.
After finishing our meal and enjoying our drinks, the server approached to me asking if we wanted to do the check.
Honestly, being part of this amazing service industry this is the first time I felt treated different just for look different than the rest of our tables, (I’m Hispanic and the rest were caucasian ladies and gentleman).
Please don’t let that our actual political differences make our bussines go down, let’s keep being empathic each others and respect our roots.
Please don’t let that this amazing place to eat becomes different just for political or racial believes, let’s take care of our beloved neighborhood please, please keep the good food and vibes as always.
In this country we’re all united, not divided....
