AUSTEA recently opened for business in Feb, and it's quickly becoming our top Bubble Tea shop in town. We've been here several times, and the staff here is really friendly and helpful with questions about their drinks. We've tried various drinks with each visit and each time AUSTEA did not disappoint us. Their drinks are full of flavor and if we ordered boba with the drink, it's always been fresh and chewy; doesn't have a tough center when biting in to it like places that make it poorly.

One other random positive note I noticed, is that their Internet connection is really fast and stable. Probably explains why it's popular with the students studying here. We're looking forward to coming back here again. Here's are some of my favorite drinks here and a few comments:

Mango Smoothie: this is my go to drink at any Bubble Tea shop. AUSTEA makes a really good one and consistent each time. I recommend adding classic boba toppings.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie: my friend recommended this one. I was expecting it to have an odd texture, but I really enjoyed this drink. The smoothie was well made and had a perfect amount of strawberry sweetness. I added strawberry toppings which made the drink even better.

Crème Brûlée Brown Sugar: this drink is a popular drink according to the staff, so I had to try it. Indeed is does have a crème brûlée taste and is very sweet. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, so next time I'll need to lower the sugar level.

Aloha and Galaxy Kumquat Fresh Fruit Tea: both unique and refreshing flavors. I'll likely be ordering more of these fruit teas during the hot...

AUSTEA is my favorite boba tea shop in South Austin! The owner and staff are so sweet and patient with my family.

So many good caffeinated and noncaffeinated drinks to try! My kids really liked the Taro Coconut smoothie as well as the Strawberry smoothie -- both with boba (bubbles), of course!

AUSTEA is locally-owned (there's currently only one in Austin), has a clean atmosphere, plenty of open tables to study or work, free wifi, and lots of parking. They have food too (banh mi, chicken wings, and more), which I'm looking forward to trying!

What really made me a customer for life is how they treated my family on our most recent visit. I accidentally ordered a drink for my kids with caffeine and didn't realize my mistake until after my kids started drinking it. When I went up to order an alternative drink, they inquired if there was anything wrong with our original order, and when I told them, they offered to replace it with a noncaffeinated drink! This is customer service at its best!

See you again soon!

Pro Tip: They have a helpful little icon for their...

We're from the Dallas area coming in for a visit, so we have a bunch of the main boba spots. Austea is absolutely elite tier. The location is really nice. It's next to a bunch of other shops. Inside Austea is nice and cool which is great for these summer days. They were playing great music and the aesthetics here are great. They have wifi here, so you can get your study on, which is what some folks were doing.

We got the two boneless combos with Special matcha Marble , tiger brulee, and Uji matcha. The flavor of the wings were Soy garlic and House made special. The wings were super good. Be warned that the house made special does have a little kick to it which is indicated by the small chili pepper. The drinks were absolutely top tier. Matcha is really good, and the creme brulee flavors just compliment it very well. The curly fries were really good, so make sure you get them. The chicken was all nice and tasty. It also didn't have an old oil taste which is great

Overall, definitely would recommend Austea to all my boba lovers! Great for everyone! Service here...

I was craving some taro boba tea. I decided to come here for the first time since it was close by. I did not realize today was actually the grand opening. The place was crowded as a result, but still has a nice atmosphere. The employees were still quite friendly and efficient. They were even kind to bring my drinks to me (due to me being deaf and not hearing the drinks being called out). However I am docking a star because their dairy free options are somewhat limited for those with dietary restrictions. I could not get the taro drink I was craving because it was only made with regular milk. I ended up ordering a matcha latte and a galaxy kumquat drink instead. If anyone is dairy free and has certain cravings I would recommend other spots instead. However, I would still come back here if I want a matcha drink though. It's better than Teapocia Lounge for sure.

Update: Got the brown sugar milk tea drink again and it was done right this time. I got 75% sweetness and realized I could’ve gone sweeter as I still tasted more whole milk than I would like. The boba pearls were perfectly made - it’s rare for me to encounter boba that’s chewy but still firm. Got great customer service again that sought to understand my needs! 1st time here. Ordered brown sugar milk tea. It was pricey, over $7 before tax, but wanted to give it a shot. It’s the worst brown sugar sugar milk tea I ever had. It largely tasted like milk, boba was very overcooked and squishy. In my photo, you’ll see that there’s no brown syrup on the sides of the cup, which I normally see with brown sugar milk tea. Aside from the drink, the cashier was very friendly and patient as I took some time to decide - even offered to combine things I liked.
