Beware of hidden fees for truck rentals. I rented a truck and returned it in the condition outlined. They offered an email receipt. It never came. When I called tool rental to follow up, the representative said I needed to return to the store for a physical receipt. This hd is not close to me and returning to the store is not a reasonable request. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he said I would need to be in the store for that too. I escalated my request and got a supervisor. They were able to email me the receipt but there was an additional fee for damage protection that no one spoke to me about and that I didn't approve. I have full insurance coverage and it isn't something I need. I let them know and while they apologized, said I'd need come back to the store to get an in-store credit that could only be used at that location. As I said, it's not a close location. My time, the traffic and gas isn't worth that amount. I called today and asked to speak with the store manager to let them know I'd need to dispute the charge with my credit company if they were unable to fix the issue. Tiffany, while friendly, said she was the person I needed to talk to but that she would need my physical card to adjust the transaction and there was nothing else she could do. I'm moving forward with disputing it with my CC. While the truck rental itself was fine, the experience around it was stressful and unnecessary. I'd recommend a different location. The employees weren't upfront with the fee structure and getting clarification on unapproved charges was a hassle. I had to speak to three different ppl and wasn't able to a resolution that didn't involve me being back in the store. It's not worth the risk of hassle.
8/14 filed out the form they requested, more time, and while they apologized, no resolution without an in-store presence was offered. The idea that as a company they are unable to address a legit issue about fee transparency for a minimal amount without this level of inconvenience...
Read moreI recently visited Home Depot to purchase a rug pad and found one that fit my needs. However, I immediately noticed that the price labels were completely inaccurate. I even took photos because multiple rug pads were stacked in the same spot, all clearly labeled at $44.50. When I got to the register to pay, the price that rang up was significantly higher than the signage indicated.
Before I could flag down an associate, an older man approached me and aggressively started pitching me a Home Depot credit card, as if he’d been eyeing my screen the whole time. He interrupted me before I even had a chance to speak.
When I explained the pricing issue to him, he simply said: “It seems pretty obvious to me that this rug pad would cost more, even if our signage were off.” When I asked to speak to a manager, he claimed he was the manager and refused to honor the price. I strongly believe he wasn’t a manager at all.
He then proceeded to stand over my shoulder, repeatedly insisting that my request for them to honor the price on the shelf was unreasonable, almost gaslighting me for even asking. I tried to remain polite and asked him to give me some space, but he refused to step back.
He hovered uncomfortably close to me while I entered my PIN and refused to leave me alone. The entire experience was extremely uncomfortable and left me feeling that Home Depot should have honored the listed price, especially since it was their mistake to have the rug pads labeled and placed...
