I visited this location yesterday with my family around 4 pm. We went there because our daughter said the food is great. The line was very long which my daughter says is typical. We had been waiting about 20 minutes until we reached the turnstile part of the line. A large group of teenagers came in and began crowding the line and openly talking about how they were going to line jump. At that point I turned around and pointed out that they needed to be fair to the rest of us who had been waiting for 20 minutes and go to the end of the line. Unfortunately that did not stop them because 7 of them walked to bathroom side of line, ducked under the barriers and proceeded to start ordering food. I again talked to them about fairness and integrity. I told the employees at the beginning of the order line about the situation but they looked confused and did not appear to know what to do. I reported it to the cashier and she apologized. I realize that cheaters are going to cheat the system when given the opportunity. I believe that Cabo Bob's could create a more fair and welcoming environment by encouraging their employees to seek out management when customers complain and also help with crowd control when the line is obviously out of control. Even as we were checking out the large teen group crowding the line had grown and was pressing in on those of us paying. Overall the food was fresh and very good. The 30 minute line wait and disappointing experience with other customers...
Read moreSummary:
When ordering for pickup during dinner (busy), the burrito is noticeably smaller. When ordering in person it was normal size or close to it.
Review:
Burrito size for pickup orders has decreased by 50%, at least. This is recent and consistent. Been coming here for over 2 years but last few weeks repeatedly picked up burritos which are now the size of an iPhone. If you’ve been coming here you know that’s way smaller.
Not sure if it’s new staff or if this is policy. Will update if something changes but looks like the new reality.
Update #1:
Went back and I swear the burritos are getting smaller. It’s barely the size of a BUSINESS CARD. This is with EXTRA rice and beans.
They used to be so big you could barely wrap the burrito. Now I’m just hungry.
Final update:
Went 7 times in past few weeks. 4 out of 4 times, when ordering for pickup during dinner (busy), the burrito is noticeably smaller. 3 of 3 times when ordering in person it was normal size or close to it.
Something changed, but the staff now consistently shorts pickup orders during dinner rush. If you want a normal burrito do not order pickup during this time. Unfortunate.
Since I don’t want to wait in line for dinner I won’t be ordering during this...
Read moreCabo Bob's is all about the freshly-made tortillas and expanse of flavors that puts Chipotle to shame. It costs roughly the same for a Chipotle-style mega burrito but it definitely tastes much better because of the fresher ingredients. If you want to get a bowl however, Chipotle definitely has larger portion sizes for those.
I usually get the #5 Pork Burrito since I don't really need to have queso for every meal (it is delicious however). Their brisket is surprisingly good, especially considering how snobby Texas makes one when it comes to BBQ. I also really enjoy the Ancho Chili Tortilla that is freshly pressed and cooked as you order.
The fountain drinks are all pure cane sugar sodas including the fantastic Maine Root Doppelgänger, so be warned you namebrand drinkers!
They also have a loyalty program that gives you a free burrito (or t-shirt) for every six that you buy. That works out to each burrito costing $1 less in the long run (if you're counting).
If you want something like Chipotle and don't want to walk to Chipotle, then this is a great...
