AMBIANCE: Located near Austin FC stadium, this brewery is great place to hang out and watch football. My husband and I absolutely love this brewery. As a dog mom, I love finding places I can take my dog to. I love that they allow both dogs inside (for when the rare times Austin is too cold) and outside on their patio, as well as have a fenced off leash area where dogs can run around and play while you hang out with your friends. They also have plenty of TVs inside and outside all bar areas so great spot to enjoy and watch sport games (we came and watched UT and Kansas Chiefs). Great sports bar. On a Saturday we went wasnât too crowded. This is a great spot for large groups - plenty of seating everywhere.
FOOD: The brewery itself doesnât have food, but they always have at least 2-3 food trucks in the back. As a vegetarian I appreciate there was Backdraft Pizzeria and Con Todo (James Beard award winning taco truck!) with vegetarian options on both.
PARKING: plenty of free parking as have own dedicated lots - know that half spots are on gravel and other half paved.
BEER: I am not a beer drinker, but my husband is and he loves the hazy IPA. They have a nice rotation of at least 10 beers on tap and do have ciders for non...
Read moreThe majority of my time working along side Celis was a good experience, so I will leave the review neutral.
If anyone is curious where the pizza has gone. Unfortunately we couldn't work things out with Celis and they wanted us to leave. I had a great time serving all of you and will genuinely miss it. Serving pizza at Celis was my home away from home for years. It's sad to see it end.
They may not have anything nice to say about myself but I will begin with saying some nice things about them. They have a great space for events, they had great food(LOL just kidding, the other vendors are great), close to the stadium, lots of parking, and its awesome they allow dogs.
Potential food vendors, have an exit strategy and don't get too comfortable here. They have a history of rapidly disassembling their relationships with vendors. Lets just say I can't list a time in my tenure there that a relationship between Celis and a food vendor tenant didn't blow up, now including us unfortunately.
Celis, I wish you the best in your future...
Read moreTake a second to read about Celis's history and story -- they're one of the first craft breweries in the state of Texas and personify so much about what Texas and Austin are about: never give up, work hard, and beer is an important part of life!
After you do that, go have some beer. You'll find out that they're making some stellar brews--almost all of the Belgian variation--that will make your tastebuds dance. And something for everyone: tripel (my fave), IPA, sour, stout, etc. Their beer ranks among my favorite of Austin craft breweries.
The vibe of the taproom is fun + chill, not obnoxious like some taprooms.
Celis is also one of our favorite places for Geeks Who Drink trivia (Tuesday nights). Always a fun time, and prizes consist of gift certificates to Celis!
They often have food trucks in the parking lot (the ~5 we've tried so far have all been excellent). AND, they're in the process of building a beer garden on the side that looks HUGE and has a pretty big stage ... so look for some cool stuff coming...
