Ode à la Rose — Local services in Austin

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I spent over $200 on a bouquet for a friend, and thankfully she sent me a picture of what was delivered because it looked absolutely nothing like what I ordered. I chose the arrangement specifically because it was supposed to be filled with dahlias, but there wasn’t a single dahlia included. On top of that, many of the flowers looked wilted or hadn’t even opened yet.

When I reached out asking for a refund, the florist did agree to resend the bouquet, and the replacement did include dahlias. Unfortunately, the delivery was mishandled - they didn’t knock or ring the doorbell, so my friend didn’t realize they were outside. By the time she found them hours later, the flowers had already dried up.

I had really wanted to support a local florist and expected a much higher level of quality for the price I paid, but this fell short in multiple ways. If you’re sending flowers from out of town, I would recommend looking for a different florist in Austin.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I understand Valentine’s Day is busy and they need to deliver a lot of flowers. However, I think they have an obligation to deliver the correct flowers. I bought nice, $200 flowers for my partner, and when they arrived, they were completely different and even had a note written to someone else. When I tried to call for a refund, but they turned off their phone due to “high call volume,” which means I probably won’t get my money back until way later. I have ordered about 10 times from Ode à la Rose and 50+ times from leading online competitors. Price at Ode is about double of competing online vendors, but you definitely get your money's worth. The flowers are fresher, have longer stems, are more beautifully arranged, and last longer than flowers from popular online competitors.
