$10.50!! Bang for buck. Is well worth it! I sampled around.
As a Executive Chauffeur. I get to eat all over the Midwest. So, today I googled “Buffet”. Saw China Star... 4.1⭐️ “Why not I thought”. It’s way better than most “Stripe” Mall Eateries. I had Low Expectations, to be brutally honest. This place is the quintessential,
“Don’t judge a book by its cover”.
Honey Chicken was flavorful & properly crunchy.👍🏾
The Potatoes were nice & fluffy. Eating last morsels, at bottom of tray wouldn’t be ideal. Cause so much butter was laying down there😐😒
The Pepper Steak was tender. Peppers & onions were crispy but soft inside. 👍🏾
The fried rice was excellent. Not to heavy/greasy.👍🏾
The Egg Fu Yung was REALLY good. The gravy was slightly thicker than I’m used too. However, it very flavorful. 👍🏾
Blackened Pepper chicken was very well done. 🙌🏾
The chicken wings were huge, but average tasting at best. 👎🏾
The Decor wasn’t overly appealing. Which is fine. Nobody goes there for that. But the booth was really comfy.
The lo mein was decent. 👍🏾
Dumpling 🥟 was so-so at best. 👎🏾
Pepsi was excellent. Perfect amount of carbonation! Probably best I’ve ever had at any eatery. 🙌🏾
In Summation: The patron diversity was rather interesting to me personally.
There was a Latin American Eatery next door. Yet, was a lot of Latin people in the Asian Eatery🤷🏾♂️ Their were Black,Latin, White,East Indian & Asians eating side by side & conversing. Not what I expected for a Small Town like Austin.
Also noticed, steady line of people getting food to go. The Staff was very polite & attentive⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As I was walking out @ what appears to beginning of lunch rush. Being that I strolled in at 11:15am. More & more people were piling in.
I had low expectations at 1st glance. Walked away much happier than expected. In the Twin Cities, Metro Area. This place would be among the Top Tier Buffet Style Restaurants. No question.
China Star ⭐️ is truly a star. Next time I drive Clients down here. I NOW know where I can get a good meal. For a...
Read moreATTENTION TRUCKERS: I at one point of my life ate at Asian buffets on a daily basis for alittle over half a year of my life so i feel when it comes to determining if an establishment is up to snuff in the Asian buffet genre i unabashedly consider myself an expert. With that said i waited to review this buffet in Austin,mn until i had been there at mutiple days and times and after months of consideration i can definitely endorse China Star as the best option for Asian food along the I-90 corridor west of Rochester. The Mongolian bbq adds to the value and makes it impossible for your food not to be hot and fresh. With Semi-truck parking available in the walmart lot across the street skip the gas station food on your next run and stop here at China Star. You'll thank yourself...
Read moreTook my family there, food was decent and price was good snow shrimp was awesome wait staff kept cups full, but not only with beverages 0_o when who I assume was a buss girl came to refill my drink I watched her flick her hand/finger about 3" directly above my drink with damp hands covered in food presumably from the table she just cleaned
Coincidentally on a completely unrelated note (sarcasm) I've been on the toilet upwards of 15 times today with intense explosive censored
Could have been the food, could habe been her flicking her hands into my beverage, kinda makes you wonder if they do something lime that right in front of you what they do behind...
