Dutch Bros Coffee — Restaurant in Austin

I waited so long for a Dutch Bros to hit Austin that wasn't an hour or more away from me and they are finally here. No doubts they'd be incredible but when I went there the first time and every time since, their staff are kind, friendly and not overly bubbly so it comes off genuine and authentic and not fake like other Dutch Bros where they are so overly bubbly it seems like they are acting to live up to DB standards of service. Either way that's not what your met with at this location, this location is fantastic. Drinks are delicious. Service is great. And I am overall very pleased. My only hiccup if you needed one is I'm used to DB in AZ where if the outside line is extremely long and you're feeling well enough to exit your car, you can go to the window and order and not wait for the car line. Kind of a perk for getting out your car. This ATX location does them in order of customer whether in the car line or at the window, so you wait and wait no matter what. Granted you get in the middle of the line more than likely than the back of the car line since as you're at the window they are still walking to car windows to take their order. However, it is different and it's really not a perk to go to the window so you mine as well just stay in your car and wait. Not a big deal, not even a complaint. Just food for thought on why people get out of their car and go to the shorter or nonexistent line at the window, instead of waiting in the long car line, because we believe we will have quicker service. Now that I know it I still get out of my car I just make sure I have time to wait no matter what because you will. The first day I tried the window I was running just in time for work but had like five minutes to spare, kinda, so went to the window and ordered and was met with this new way of running things so it threw me off a bit. It was frustrating cause in AZ the window CSR will make your drink right there, he sat just outside of sight waiting for more customers as everyone at the drive window made drinks. Perhaps this is a smaller location and he didn't have room or access to make drinks but it looks exteriorly the same as the other 8+ locations I've been to from AZ, NM, WA and now here. Point is, amazing staff, amazing location, if you've never had DB before GO NOW!!! I ASSURE YOU, YOU WILL LIKELY LOVE IT, THERE ARE OPTIONS FOR EVERYONE AND IT IS WORTH EVEN A 20 MIN WAIT, yes I've waited that long before for my coffee- totally worth it! By the way 1st Wednesday of every month is Sticker day!!! Free sticker per drink purchased. Also make sure to download the Dutch Bros app, they went modern during COVID, it's not as fun as the stamp card, in my opinion but it's worth the download nevertheless, you get digital stickers, you get points per order to earn free drinks and sometimes they give you challenges now to earn extra points. I just believe and back Dutch a 110%. (You can tell I struggle with change when things are going good and it doesn't make complete sense to change them, but they do put their employees and customers first and my hang ups don't fall onto them by any means.) Fun Fact: you can not open a Dutch Bros unless you've worked for Dutch Bros first. This means they know what they are doing and know exactly what Dutch Bros expects. Today 04/04/2023This is now one of our weekly spots with our oldest daughter. She introduce it to us and now we see ourselves there two or times weekly 😜. Love the drinks y'all served.

Today 4/09/2023 was totally different. Been going here for 6 weeks now and when the guy came to get take our order we told him. He ask before he left do you want espresso in our coffee we stated yes except for the small one we order for our youngest child. Before reaching the front a young lady came out saying am just making sure that you want espresso in them or not. So told her yes except for the small cup. Reach too the front to receive our coffee and right away we knew that the order was wrong. 911,golden eagle and the kicker wasn't correct so I told them about it. The young lady that gave us the coffee stated next time to make sure you say you wanted espresso in it. Again love going there but within our whole six weeks buying never once have anyone ask if you wanted espresso in our "coffee" you think that's what makes the coffee. Gotten home and I took a sip of my 911 and it was sweet and if anyone had tasted the 911 its supposed to be out right strong,every sip you take is supposed to be caffeine. They did fix the one we told them about but over all the coffee wasn't made properly. Those three coffee did not taste as it should have been and it wasn't blended as always. The young lady did also stated that new people was in and we did notice it as well. It was not the regulars in there today. Hope that this won't happen to us again. Still love the people. They’re awesome. It’s been awhile and we decided to try mobile orders again. Probably shouldn’t have. I don’t recommend mobile orders at this location. I made a mobile order so I can get in and get out. Shame on me 😂

The outside lane should definitely be made for mobile orders to be able to pick up and go. It does in fact allow plenty of room for a lifted truck to use - so my midsize suv would do just fine.

Love the people. Love the coffee. We are former Starbucks folks so.

My biggest pet peeve comes from the fact that we finally used the mobile order service …. Yet still had to wait in the line. We can’t pick up from the window, which I understand with the limited parking. However, what’s the point of making a mobile order and still waiting in line for 15 minutes - meaning my drink has potentially been sitting for 20+ min.?

Was hoping this experience was better than Starbucks. 🥲

Round two (LIVE): I have to emphasize, we love the staff and our drinks are always amazing. Would just love a tweak in efficiency in the mobile order department.

We didn’t do an online order in fear of having to wait in line as if we placed are order upon arrival. However, it seems today as if those who order online are receiving their drinks and are able to pull out of the line. The turn is tight and I can understand the hesitation of staff from letting people do this but really it’s doable for normal sized vehicles. It does take collaboration from the vehicle at front and the vehicle leaving the line.
