UPDATE: After leaving the below review, which outlined a particularly negative experience I had at this establishment, I was contacted by Taco Cabana management, who went out of their way to get a full understanding of my situation, take steps to prevent such issues in the future, and compensate me for my bad experience. While my experience was a 1 star experience, that customer service was 5 star, top of the line, and a true model for customer satisfaction. Thank you, Taco Cabana, for listening to your customers, being considerate of those of us who have had bad experiences, and doing everything in your power to help improve our future visits. You have certainly not lost me as a customer, and I look forward to my next visit. To any other restaurants who may be reading this, Taco Cabana's customer service has set a high bar here, and they are an excellent example to be followed.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I hate leaving negative reviews, I genuinely do, so I'll try and be as specific as possible. Maybe others will have a better go of it than I. When I was ordering, I found myself in a very uncomfortable situation. I am blind, and the woman behind the counter would NOT talk to me. My father (who is sighted) was with me, and she would only accept my answers to her questions—such as what I wanted, what drink, what sides etc.—when he restated exactly what I'd said. She refused to talk to me. (Blindness is not contagious, Taco Cabana.) At one point, my dad stepped away to get a better look at the specials menu, and the woman behind the counter stood there in silence until he got back, so that she could ask him what sides I wanted. I was right there the whole time. For the record, the food tasted alright. I did, however, throw it all up shortly thereafter, so make of that what you will. Taco Cabana, please learn to treat your disabled customers better. Our money is just as good, and we will gladly spend...
Read more9/26 Update #2: I emailed in for a 3rd time about getting a refund and was responded to by Joel who ended up responding and solving the issue all within 10 minutes and 2 emails. Joel was GREAT!! I’m sad the people working in store aren’t as pleasant or helpful. Leaving my rating 1 star for the location and 5 stars for Joel in Customer Care!!
9/25 Update: As you can see an “owner” responded to my comment. I emailed TWICE now and have yet to hear back. I did not leave with food and they have my $17 still almost a week later. Still hopeful bc I work at a restaurant too but hope is fading.:/
I placed my order online thru the actual TC website. This particular location is always very slow so I arrived 25 minutes after I placed the order, but when I got there there was no order waiting on the pickup shelf. Two different people made eye contact with me, but no one said anything. After about 5 minutes a woman, who I’m assuming was the manager, asked if I had been helped. I told her I was picking up an online order… she couldn’t find my order. Lo and behold, my order is still sitting on the printer. They start my order… Another 5 minutes later they tell me the fryer is broken and they can’t make the chicken flauta on my meal. Manager offers to sub it with extra tortillas? Whatever… ANOTHER 5 minutes later, they tell me they can’t make something else… so I ask for a refund. The manager gets attitude and tells me I have to tell “them”. Who is them??? I ask for the number to call and am given a number that’s no longer in service. Apparently they only handle refunds thru webform...
Read moreWorst food/experience i’ve had this year. I had it delivered through a 3rd party delivery service. All but 1 item was wrong. First we received a call from the restaurant claiming that they were currently out of steak, so they asked if chicken was alright. I asked if they could substitute it with ground beef instead, but they replied “well we already made it”. It’s not a huge deal, so I said it was fine. If that would have been the only issue, I wouldn’t be writing this review. When I received my food, I found out that all but 1 item was wrong. I also ordered 2 soft beef tacos a la carte. I got 2 soft bean & cheese tacos. No lettuce. No tomato. Not even the complimentary salsa. I was also still charged for a steak quesadilla even though I received chicken, which should’ve costed less. I also found out that they charged my bank account twice initially before they refunded the 2nd charge! This is my 2nd bad experience at this location (in a row) and I won’t be ordering here ever again. If you’re looking for fast Mexican food, you’re better off going to Taco Bell...
