El Tacorrido — Restaurant in Austin

Spoke poorly to me over the intercom. Also not great service when I got to the window. Tacos are so good here love coming here but today wanted to over charge me and not treat me with the respect a customer deserves. Very rude when I was concerned about the price and what I was paying for. Friday 3/31 both girls at the window 10:57am very impolite. It makes good customers not want to return and why loose regulars? I didn't even want to eat my tacos after the rude exchange. So rude assumed they spit in it I lost my appetite. Please go review the cameras to see if food was contaminated Friday morning because I will not eat this food made by rude people preparing my food.

"They’re incredibly rude and always very short. They often cut you off and moreso, my orders are typically short (I have to stay at the window to make sure I get the right order — every single time). We had been eyeing this place for some time now and finally decided to try it out today (08/05/2020). We ended up ordering via Uber Eats.

Our order consisted of 2 tacos (Bistek & Guisada), a Gordita and Chips and Queso Blanco. Before I go any further with this review I will say that the flavor of the meat was really good. Could’ve gone a lot lighter on the onions though.

So anyway, I had already eaten the Bistek taco at this point and I wanted to try the other. I open it up to inspect (as I always do), and notice a spec of white In between the meat. It was way too white for an onion, and I didn’t add any cheese so I look further.

Upon further inspection I find that it is a tip to a rubber glove. Yes, a RUBBER GLOVE! At this point I was truly disgusted and the thought of what I’d just found made me sick. While I understand mistakes happen, this goes way beyond that. It’s complete carelessness, ESPECIALLY at a time like this.

Like, at what point did someone realize that the tip of their glove was missing? Or did they even? Clearly, no quality control had taken place because I don’t see how anyone could miss this.

I am not a person who eats out much, but a taco fix is needed every once in a while.

Again, mistakes happen, but there is no way I would ever come to this...

We came here because we live close by and we wanted to get some delicious Mexican food since I was born in Monterrey. Obviously, no one's going to compare to authentic Mexican food. I was just expecting something a little less soggy. I don't know if it's because we went through the drive through or what happened but my husband and I were both a little disappointed with the quality of the food that we received. One of the Gorditas was lukewarm, the other 2 were straight up cold.

I was actually quite impressed with the level of professionalism in regards to management. I accidentally called the wrong Tacorrido the first time, to let them know about my experience, and the young lady at the Oltorf of location was incredibly helpful. Even though she didn't resolve my issue, she certainly offered to. She gave me the number to the correct store so I communicated with that store leader and he was also very polite and very empathic towards our experience. He kindly asked us to give them another try in the future and they would hopefully change our minds.

Because of this, we will definitely try El Tacorrido again. When I do, I will change the score of this review. For now, I think three stars is fair since the meat did taste good but the management was...
