I stopped at this place completely randomly, typed "food" into Google maps and exited to a place right near the highway. I noticed from the reviews the Wings seemed to be the popular item, but despite this I ordered the hamburger. I mean hamburgers are in the name of the place. The cashier told me the onion rings were good, so I grabbed an order of those as well, and took a seat. I noticed a sign advertising that they had been in business 35 years. A few minutes went by, several people came and went, picking up and placing orders, (most of them for wings) and my burger and onion rings came out. The Burger The burger was very much like a Whopper Burger from Burger King. The mayo and onion had the same flavor, the meat patty had a flame broiled flavor on the outer edge, and the bun was very similar as well. As far as size goes, the burger wasnt huge, but extra meat was only about 60 cents. There was also a steak burger option for not much more. Onion Rings The onion rings were very wide, the batter was crispy, the portion was large, and they had a good flavor. Im not sure if it was beer batter, but it was very similar, with the addition of a little bit of a sour flavor that wasn't bad, but was different, it could have been lemon. Im not sure. Other Menu Items I noticed some random items on the menu as well. Cold cut sandwiches, crispy tacos, broiled or fried chicken, cheese sticks, and frito pie. Service Service was decently good, the cashier was friendly, spoke with all the customers, spoke Spanish and English. There was no table service, but the restaurant was clean inside. Value I felt the prices were a bit high. The burger was pretty basic for $5.60, the meat portion was a bit on the small side, the flavor was decent, but not different enough to bring me back. Combo's made the meal slightly more affordable, but a basic no-cheese burger with a regular size onion ring, and a coke was $10.50. I saw a family order of Wings, 24 wings, 2 orders or fries or rings, and a 2L of Coke for $31.50 Which seemed like a decent deal for wings. Overall Impression I'd visit again to try the wings, but wouldnt go back specifically for the burger over just going to Burger King. The onion rings were good, but not good enough to bring me back, even as a quick exit when passing.

I went in there on my lunch break today and ordered 12 chicken wings....I was given baby chick wings....I would like to know who their chicken supplier is because they need to be checked out by the FDA or BBB because they are killing baby chickens that barely got to the teenage stage. I have never in my life ordered chicken wings and got some wings this small, and when I went to go ask for a refund the owner told me to sit down and eat them before I complain and I said eat what? Some bones and skin. I ordered 12 wings and there was at least 24 wings in my box. He got loud with me and made a scene and asked for a refund and told me this was his #1 seller and he been selling wings like this for 25 years.....I'm from Florida and I thought everything was supposed to be bigger in Texas ...he refused to give me my refund untill I sat down and tried one, and I said try what? But I sat down and ate one, and got back up and said ok bro, I ate one and this wasn't flying, just like these baby chickens he tried to serve me. He got loud and asked all the customers how was their wings.....and not a single person had wings, or answered....and when I got loud back with him he said ok, everyone heard you why are you getting loud.....I've never in my life been more disrespected in a restaurant and I've maybe sent back or asked for a refund on food maybe 5 times in my life. And I doubt the place would pass a health inspection, I saw 2 roaches crawling on the walls next to where I was sitting and the floor felt like a drag strip track from how sticky it was, pulled off my boot twice while I was in there. And it kinda smelled like a nursing home but that mighta just been the owner cuz the closer I was to him the worse it smelled. Florida

I moved to Kyle a while back, but I still think about Hilbert’s all the time! It’s seriously one of my favorite spots in Austin. I called in my order today and while waiting in the lobby, the staff reminded me exactly why I keep coming back. They’re always polite, friendly, and address you by name, which makes it feel so personal and genuine. While we were waiting and shivering a bit, one of the workers noticed right away and said, “Are y’all cold?” Then he turned the air down and added, “No suffering here at Hilbert’s!” That small moment says everything about their customer service, they truly care about people. The hot wings and Kool-Aid are always on point, but it’s the warmth and hospitality that make this place special. If you want that old-school Austin kindness with food that hits every time, Hilbert’s on Cameron Road is it!

Old, musty and the service is Dusty. I did not get to check out the food. I had a question regarding if there was a menu. I asked the lady in the front with an earpiece in the ear, if they had a website, she asked me what I wanted and I said, I like to see what the food looks like. She was annoyed and spatted out the website. The place was completely empty, I looked at the website, it had no pictures. She asked what I wanted I said, the garden burger. She asked in a condescending way.. That’s it, you’re just gonna get something with no meat? I told her, I don’t see any pictures so yes. She says, well it’s very simple here.. we serve burgers what do you want in a rude tone. I said well, Since i don’t see any pics on your website, i’m good with what i chose and add in fries. She says, Well it’s not that difficult. I said, it isn’t difficult, I’m just being patient and taking my time with what I ordered.. She begins to tell me that they’re a small mom and pop.. and blah, blah, blah… I said you know what, Thanks but, I was just going to test out your food so I can bring in my construction team for lunch. So, maybe next time, just be patient because you just missed out on a whole lot of business. She was either miserable, or the owner, or a member of the owner’s family or just hates the people she works for because she put her attitude first over bringing in revenue to the business. Another possibility is she might have been racist. Silly Silly. Good luck to...
