Idlewild Coffee — Restaurant in Austin

Thankful to have found this little coffee bar in the lobby of SxSW building. Just started working in this section of downtown and the coffee pickings are slim (and not very good). But then I saw a sign, and followed that coffee sign to Idlewild. I ordered the most basic thing on the menu “medium coffee w/ a splash of oat milk.” I know the coffee was great because when I got home from work, I bragged about how “I had a good cup of coffee, today.” The service was straightforward and warm, and the price was also fair. I just love how good their coffee is!! Hot or iced, the taste and the art has been solid and consistent every time I went. This one is tucked in the SXSW building near the capitol. I like the other location as well. Besides the coffee itself, I would come here for quiet time of reading as there are a lot of spaces in the lobby area and not that busy in the early morning....

Love this spot. Super quiet and clean, great staff, excellent drinks, and they have real mugs and cups for the beverages. Spots near the capitol tend to be grab-and-go and disposable cups only, so I really appreciate having a place where I can sit and enjoy a few minutes alone with a drink and not be moving. They also host fun food pop-ups, which is a nice treat...
