For the past 25 years, I've been a devoted fan of the Chicken Bowl for my lunchtime enjoyment. This establishment holds the distinction of being a family-owned business that consistently serves delectable food. Notably, they are willing to accommodate individual preferences by offering customized dishes. Their breakfast tacos are truly outstanding, capturing the essence of a delicious morning meal. The Chicken Bowl itself presents a delightful combination of vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, carrots, and savory dark chicken. It is highly recommended to enhance this dish with a touch of teriyaki sauce, elevating its flavors to new heights. If you happen to be in the downtown area around Lavaca 17th St., I enthusiastically endorse trying the Chicken Bowls for a truly satisfying dining experience.

I'm not a picky eater and will eat most of everything, but I couldn't force myself to eat this at all. $10 for some old boil vegetables and dry chicken are absolutely unacceptable. Hope their tacos are better. Staff were friendly though.

Went here with kids a d they had a great time. Service was fast, manager was accommodating when something wasn't available. You can buy cool loteria shirts. Good portions, fair price.

This may not be considered a nostalgic Austin gem but seriously... it's one of THE best hole in wall joints smackdab in the middle of UT and the Capitol! The service is fast, the tables are clean and the food is great!

Now I haven't tried everything on the menu. One day I tried the carne guisada dink and now I don't want anything else! But I have to tell you about the dink; it may make you feel guilty afterwards, but that guilt never enters your mind while it's in front of you! It is FULL of flavor, a lot of meat, rice and cheese. It's taste is sincerely "tex-mex" authentic. The dinks are definitely a safe way to go! However, everything from their enchiladas to their teriyaki bowls are all delicious!

Definitely give it a try. The prices are about average: $5-$7 a plate. Parking is difficult so if you can walk, walk. I have yet to meet anyone who was displeased with their...

I should've looked at the reviews here first to see that no one posted anything about their chicken strips. Please don't be a dummy like me and order something that no one else in the restaurant is eating!!! Their chicken strips consist of processed chicken meat, think original McDonald's Chicken McNuggets....only twice as expensive!!

I can't vouch for their soups or other menu items but the soup seemed to be the main attraction. Wish I could say I would go back to try it out but I'll probably take a...
