I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Piscina, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I entered the restaurant, I was greeted warmly by the staff, setting the tone for the exceptional customer service that awaited me.
The level of attentiveness and care displayed by the staff was truly remarkable. They were always prompt in their responses and went above and beyond to ensure our dining needs were met. Every interaction with the staff was friendly, courteous, and professional, which greatly enhanced our overall dining experience.
Now let’s talk about the star of the show – the fajitas. La Piscina served some of the best fajitas I have ever tasted. The sizzling platter arrived at our table, filled with perfectly cooked filet mignonette and shrimp, accompanied by a medley of vibrant vegetables. The flavors were simply outstanding – smoky, tender, and bursting with deliciousness. The portion sizes were generous, ensuring that no guest left unsatisfied.
What truly set La Piscina apart was the attention to detail in every aspect of our visit. The ambiance of the restaurant was charming, with its tastefully decorated interiors and a soothing atmosphere. The restaurant had a perfect blend of lively energy and a relaxed setting, creating an ideal environment for a memorable dining experience.
In addition to the exceptional customer service and delectable fajitas, La Piscina offered a well-curated menu with a variety of enticing options to cater to different preferences. The presentation of each dish was impeccable, showcasing the culinary artistry of the chefs.
Overall, my experience at La Piscina was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of exemplary customer service, mouthwatering fajitas, and a delightful ambiance made it a truly memorable dining adventure. I wholeheartedly recommend La Piscina to anyone seeking an exceptional restaurant experience that will leave a...
Read moreI wanted to love this place but it just didn't meet our expectations, especially with the price tag. I gave it a 4 because I'm not as critical as my husband who probably would have given it a 2.
My husband and I had our reservation at 5:30 on a Friday evening in early January on their beautiful warm quiet porch, but we arrived 13 minutes late (our fault, and I'm grateful they have that generous policy). I apologized and the hostess said "well we have a 15 minute late policy, but that's okay this time". Slightly rude I thought, but also we weren't quite at the 15 minute mark yet ...? Then we're seated and our waiter comes over and happily says "Welcome, Mrs. Lindley!" looking directly at me, and starts talking to me without acknowledging my husband sitting right next to me the whole time. We thought that was rather odd. The rest of the evening he seemed just a bit odd with anything to do with my husband, but perhaps we were reading into things after the first little incident.
The chips, red salsa, and green avocado salsa with thick tortilla chips were delicious, queso fundido was fine, and the first margarita I ordered was pretty good. The second margarita was so strong, I had a hard time finishing it, I felt like I was drinking straight liquor. So much for consistent pouring. For our meals we got the lobster quesadilla and al pastor lambchops (I believe?). They were good-ish but I think the fajitas might be a better choice. Nothing outstanding in my opinion.
Then they charge you some sort of employee wellness surcharge (3-4%)? On top of tax and tip? My husband did NOT like that... why are WE paying that fee and what is it? So unfortunately that left us with a sour taste in our mouth.
Cool atmosphere, nice views of the Austin Central Library area, but not so great food/drinks or...
Read moreI give this place 3 stars for a few reasons. It deserves 4-5 stars for the flavor and quality of the food. However, I was disappointed with the lack of options on the menu. Secondly, we had wanted to sit outside as it was a gorgeous fall day, but they said they could only seat us inside, then proceeded to seat other couples outside. Also, it was FREEZING inside! Lastly, it’s pretty expensive. Even though the company was paying for our lunch, I think over $100 for lunch without drinks is a bit much! My husband and I were only in Austin for the day and really wanted an authentic Mexican food experience. Our first choice didn’t open until 4pm and we had to be at the airport by then. Our second choice was a food truck downtown and besides not having any parking, there was a line around the corner! (Clearly it was the best food choice), and I didn’t see anywhere to sit and eat. We tried another food truck, but I guess since it’s on wheels, it had driven away, as it was no longer at the address Google Maps provided. So, by now it’s 1pm and we haven’t eaten all day and we’re running out of time. So, we settled on La Picsina, as it was listed as one of the best rooftop restaurants in Austin. Just FYI: there are no tacos or enchiladas on their menu. This is Not a full Mexican food menu. We start with the Gulf Snapper appetizer and “Proper guacamole” (it’s on the 5th floor in the Proper hotel). For our meals I have the chicken nachos and my husband had the steak fajitas. We waited a pretty long time for our food. I felt it was at least 30 minutes between the time we ordered and our meals arriving at the table. The server was very nice. Food was very good, but I will not go back here again the next time...
