If there were more than 5 stars, they would receive more, as they truly deserve it! Pok-E-Jo's (Brodie Oaks) just catered our VA Holiday event and I just can't say enough good things. From the very start to the very end… just a great experience! When I first spoke with Jon to get details for our event, it was immediate that I felt his genuine goal was for us to have a successful party. He was so helpful, patient, and sincere. I do a lot of events and there has never been one that I didn’t have to call and follow-up on. Jon called ME to follow-up, this was a first. When we picked up the order, everything was ready, hot, and organized. During the event, we probably had 50 or more people come up to compliment the food and ask where we got it. Today, there are still people stopping us in the halls to ask the same question, and compliment the food. We ordered Turkey and Ham for our event and it really was AWESOME! I can guarantee, Pok-e-Jo’s will be catering all our future events. Many thanks, to all who had a helping hand with our order. Respectfully,...
Read moreso I said I would return, this is my second time back: THE PUDDING IS NASTY IDK WHATS IN IT BUT ITS NOT GOOD NOT SWEET NO FLAVOR IN THE COOKIES IN THE BANANA PUDDING. Over priced “Large” puddings. Not a large. It’s an individual size. We’re Texans THIS IS NOT A LARGE, COME ON NOW!! The first instinct in the banana pudding is sour or tangy. And there was these funny pieces in it like idk it wasn’t banana although there was bananas in it there was these little pieces of something. It wasn’t cold pudding either. WONT BUY AGAIN. I’ve been here once before this and the pudding was “sold out” was sold out. So I wanted to see what all the rave was about. I don’t think I’ll go back a third time. It ruined it all for me. Not just that the food period is not all that. Go to a more authentic bbq place to eat bbq not here. AND PLEASE YALL TEXANS DONT BRING VISITORS HERE THIS IS NOT TEXAS BBQ. This is not what we’re about. Don’t embarrass yourselves. Don’t embarrass us Texans. It’s over priced it was almost $90 for three adult plates: (2)w/ three meats and (1) two meats and...
Read moreArrived at Pok-E-Jos for lunch at 12.10 on a Tues. ordered immediately - 2 meat plate (13 bucks) and sweet tea (2.50) - Demetrio measured out 1.28 lbs of moist brisket and pork ribs. For vegetables, i chose potato salad and beans - although there were several more to choose from, including some healthy looking stuff. The sweet tea was ok - not too sweet. I added a little salt to the flavorful beans - which had a nice spicy taste. The potato salad was excellent - yellow potato salad with added large sections of red potatos with skin and red onion chunks. The brisket was exceptional - very tender and thick - the ribs were awesome (my compadre declared they were the best he had ever eaten) - they were spicy and did not need sauce - i thoroughly enjoyed the bbq sauce - sweet, tangy, spicy - i also had a couple of pieces of wheat bread to go with it, although white grilled toast was also available. I rated this 5 stars because of the peerless flavor and taste. Honestly, i would prefer a little larger portion :-). But for taste -...
