As a server, I understand the stress of larger parties and I understand that as a customer, it is important to be patient. Me and my friends had a reservation for 10 which turned into 12 and not everyone showed up at the same time so I understand it being a bit unorganized however, our server was unprofessional and my experience at this restaurant was such a let down. Once everyone had been seated, the waiter took our orders at different times even though people would be ready to order and he would just take a couple orders and walk away. He was nowhere to be found most of the time so naturally, some people tried to go to the bar to order drinks. Our server raised his voice and said drinks needed to be ordered through him so everyone understood and sat back down but when they wanted to order drinks, he vanished. He also said we could not split the check unless WE wrote down everything we ordered for him to split the checks (in my opinion, this is due to his own disorganization). In addition to the service being disappointing, the food may have been the most unpleasant meal I have had in a very long time. I ordered the lobster eggs benedict which sounded incredible. When our food finally came out, my food was room temperature and the lobster was SO GROSS. There was hardly any hollandaise sauce on it and they charged me an extra $12 for gluten free bread which is just insane. For a $30 eggs benedict, I had very high expectations and I could not even stomach it after a few bites. The drinks were good thank god. Our water glasses also did not get filled a single time after being seated. Lastly, the restaurant is super cute and nice looking but they play club music (literally No Hands by Waka Flakka) which is just strange but not a big deal. Overall, this restaurant was just such a disappointment. 3 hours sitting at a table and I would say 1 1/2 of those hours were spent trying to get the waiter to do his job. Working in the service industry has made me have a lot of respect for all members of restaurant staff however, I genuinely do not think I have ever had such a terrible experience at a restaurant and had automatic gratuity (which I’m not complaining) of 20% although I don’t believe it was...

The open concept and radio made it loud but after the music was adjusted the noise became more comfortable level. As for service it's good just don't be in a hurry we arrived at 1:15 and left after 3pm. The waiter was friendly but seemed very over worked. We ordered an assortment of items some brunch items, pasta and salads with some cocktails. Let's start with the cocktails. Inconsistent depending on who made it. Lemon cello smash it looked like a pink lemonade, one was garnished with an orange and one with a lime. No mint or raspberry in sight. Pulp fiction???? Got a margarita with gin, no basil or ginger
Might order a smash again but most likely only ordering wine. Cocktails not worth it.
Focaccia bread The is just pizza dough cooked dry with Parm sprinkled on top. Incorrectly named, and I really wanted my money back but we were hungry and it took another 20+ min before the food came.
Caesar salad watery dressing with shaved romaine and grated Parmesan and the god forsaken focaccia lovely seasoned and cut into a stick. And for the love of God don't order chicken for the salad it came on the side and jurky style
The eggs Benedict was ok the Hollandaise sauce was cold and congealed. With a bit of seasoning it could have been good but what I get for ordering French at an Italian place.
The burger though not cooked where ordered was enjoyed, the people who ordered pasta dishes like them and my daughter loved the French toast.
So lessons learned Order Italian at the Italian restaurant even if they have a brunch menu. Order wine or 2 word cocktails like Jack and coke, even though ordering a soda seem to be an issue there today. Don't be in a hurry because they are not.
It has been a long time since I ate at this restaurant in Dallas might not go till I'm in...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Taverna (downtown), and it was an experience worth sharing! Located downtown in a beautiful area perfect for a walk, this restaurant is surrounded by Second Street Business and Mexican Arte Museum. The lively yet charming atmosphere of the area makes it an ideal spot for romantic evenings, casual hangouts, exploring the city, etc. After dining, a stroll through the scenic streets adds to the experience. From the moment we walked in, We were warmly greeted by Lucia, the hostess, whose friendly and welcoming demeanor set the tone for a great evening. She made sure we were comfortably seated and even gave us a few recommendations. Our server, Chema, was equally fantastic—attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready with a smile. He made excellent suggestions and ensured our dining experience was seamless. The ambiance inside was elegant, while remaining casual and relaxing, making it perfect for date nights or solo dining. The staff was incredibly [friendly/attentive/professional, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience. Now, let’s talk about the food! We ordered Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese, Paglia E Fieno and Lasagna, and they were absolutely delicious and well thought out flavors. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The highlight of the meal was Taverna Focacaccia, which I highly recommend. Don’t skip dessert— the perfect ending to a great meal. Final Thoughts: Overall, Taverna is a must-visit for “foodies”. Its downtown location, combined with excellent food and a great atmosphere, makes it a perfect spot to enjoy both a meal and a leisurely walk afterward. Would I recommend...
