West China Tea House — Restaurant in Austin

They are regularly getting in new teas! They're mostly all straight tea (think green, oolong, red/black), but they also have a selection of herbals from a local supplier. It's great to see the new location taking off and many people stop by on a their trip to Austin.

This place is so welcoming and has a great variety of tea. There's so available for tea service at their tea bars, and some which is only available to purchase.

Great to experience this location's grand opening weekend May 15-17, 2025! There was quite the crowd and excitement. The new house has undergone a real transformation. By the sounds of it, they are planning a few more exciting transformations.

I'm so looking forward to West China Tea moving to our neighborhood. I can wait for their new location to open. They have the best tea - actual tea, not boba drinks. I'm looking forward to joining their membership now that we're so close.

CommuniTEA was so fun! We’ve also came in for regular tea and it’s always such a refreshing and soothing experience to be served tea and have great convos with friends and new people. It’s really rare to find a “third place” where you can unwind and connect with people outside of settings like concerts, bars, or hobbies in an informal setting. It’s the best when the owner brings out the hulusi or people bring drums or guitar and jam in the background. They also sell chocolates, books, and tea sets you can use at home! Their tea is made with a lot of love and there’s always something good to try (red tea, green tea, lemon balm, butterfly pea, mint, oolong, different...

West China Tea Lounge feels like a home away from home. I discovered it after having a haircut right down the street. Wow! Everyone is so sweet and kind, and we met locals and folks from other countries. Stimulating conversations with the staff and fellow guests. You drink tea at a sort of communal tea bar setup so organic conversation between strangers is a big part of the experience. Just marvelous. My wife and I will be making a point to come here every time we visit Austin. Such a gem and we can't wait wait...
