NDMK recently has been offering Tom Ka Soup, a food item not on their menu. My husband and I have been missing authentic Thai food. We lived in Koh Phi Phi, an island in Thailand for about 6 months, so we know what authentic Thai food tastes like and NDMK’s Tom Ka Soup totally satisfied our craving. As soon as NDMK re-opened, we rushed over to get it. We also ordered our all-time favorites! The Poke Bowl and the Grilled Chicken Bowl which we highly recommend. The Tom Ka soup was spicy, but not too spicy. The soup had all the authentic ingredients, in a creamy white coconut broth with floating pink swirls of curry. The soup is served with hefty chunks of chicken, and mushrooms slices seasoned with cilantro, chili powder and lemon grass. We had it with a serving of white rice drizzled with soy sauce. The Tom Ka Soup is offered only occasionally. We watched surfing tournaments on the big Screen TV’s . I also admired the painted images of Ben Weston Beach on the walls of the restaurant. NDMK also adheres to the rule of mask wearing and social distancing. They sell awesome masks if you are looking to buy one and sell a variety of shirts and sweatshirts and jewelry made by local artists. NDMK is a local favorite and I am so happy they re-opened!
Wednesday night chad and I ate “The Spot” bacon cheeseburgers and fries from an amazing restaurant here in Avalon called NDMK Fish House. It was the Wednesday deal day with the burgers. It was only 19 bucks for two delicious well-made burgers. It was the first time I walked in. Exceptionally clean and friendly staff. Everyone was wearing face masks with a plastic barrier between you and the cashier. Inside the line spacing for pickup is guided with the 6 feet apart stickers on the floor. While waiting in line I loved looking at all the NDMK outwear displayed in the little kiosk. They sold sweatshirts, hats, face masks and other gift items. The burger was delicious, certified Angus Beef cooked exactly right with cheese smothered with a great ponzu aioli sauce. NDMK also offers fresh Poke Bowls and sushi rolls. My favorite roll is the Ben Weston roll, made with yellowtail that is fished right from the waters...
Read moreWe had a great experience the other day at NDMK with fantastic food and a great server. The dishes we ordered were so tasty and unique. The menu is very creative and the dishes do not disappoint. This is one of the best sushi places I've been to recently. Our server was very friendly, kind and patient in answering all of our various questions about the menu. He was very attentive to our needs. It was a real pleasure to eat here and we plan on coming back again soon.
I couldn't help but notice the multiple negative reviews below from the same day that I was in the restaurant.I happened to be there at the time when a group of young girls were in the restaurant. I could tell they were snickering to themselves and complaining as they tried to snap covert pictures of this server, who happened to be our server. Honestly, the girls behavior was pretty entertaining to watch. ....But I wanted to shed some light and clarify what I saw happen. These girls ordered "takeout food". There were clear signs in the restaurant to show that they were in the "takeout only" section. They basically ordered their takeout, paid for and received their "to go food" and then randomly decided they deserved full service (without opening a tab or communicating to any of the staff). You can't expect to purchase "takeout/to go" food and then expect a server to wait on your every need. This is like an oxymoron. If you want to be "served" and have all your needs continually attended to, then you don't order "takeout". This is basic common sense and these bad reviews by this group of young girls who ordered "take-out" is a demonstration of entitlement at its finest.
These bad reviews are the equivalent of going to a "self-serve" gas station and then writing bad reviews because the cashier didn't run out to pump your gas for you and cater to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at NDMK (pronounced "endemic") restaurant located in beautiful Avalon, California. So, let's talk about the food; the star of the show at NDMK. I opted for their highly recommended halibut fish tacos and the fish (yellowtail) and turf, and I was blown away by the exquisite flavors in each dish. The halibut fish tacos were a delightful fusion of fresh ingredients, perfectly grilled fish, and a zesty sauce that added a burst of flavor with every bite. The fish (yellowtail) and turf dish were a perfect harmony of land and sea, with succulent yellowtail paired with tender beef that was cooked to perfection. Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and passion for creating culinary masterpieces.
Now, let's talk about the customer service. The staff at NDMK are the epitome of hospitality. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel like a valued guest, taking the time to explain the menu and even offering insightful recommendations based on my preferences. Throughout the evening, they ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional, attending to my every need with a genuine smile and a willingness to accommodate any request. The seamless service truly enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal.
In conclusion, NDMK is an absolute gem that should not be missed. From the delectable halibut fish tacos and fish (yellowtail) and turf dishes to the impeccable customer service and eco-conscious approach, this restaurant has it all. Whether you're a local looking for a remarkable dining experience or a visitor seeking a taste of Avalon's culinary delights, NDMK is the place to be. I cannot recommend it enough, and I'm already eagerly anticipating my next visit to indulge in more of their...
