I have never posted a review like the one I am about to post, but I think the owner needs to acknowledge the serious problem we have with Sue, an employee (Owner has not acknowledged this review over 4 months but has responses to others). You will see that countless patrons have left reviews on how unwelcome they are the second they step foot in Tree House when it’s Sue’s shift at the gallery. As a small business owner, I know how hard times have been and how badly you want your staff to reflect your willingness to provide a service people are paying for. We had excellent, welcome servers, and great food, but from the second we walked in, you could tell that Sue did not want to be there. I don’t think she wants or needs her employment, and it reflects upon the leader ship of this establishment. I am so sad that countless other people have had the same experience with Sue being undeniably rude, especially for those who are trying Tree House for the first time. I feel absolutely horrible that the other staff has to put up with Sue when they walk in the doors, even though they’re so professional that they’d never say a thing. One of the people with me asked if Sue was the owner, and the server was nothing but polite in saying that she was not. The chefs and servers are doing excellent jobs, and I can’t imagine the type of atmosphere they have to be in to take home their paychecks when they are forced to work with someone who does not want to be there. In our case, Sue was overall rude when we walked in, expecting us to know where to go to be seated, telling us that she is “the directions” when we were being respectful and trying to follow her instructions. She was counting our party and said that two of us we’re “not paying attention” because they did not have eye contact with her, talking to each other in the room. It still took us a few minutes to be seated after that. I have not seen owners acknowledge the reviews about Sue, and I do not want them to have problems in the future. I wish all the best for Sue, and I really did my best to make her feel respected and important when I was there, but her comments about patrons not knowing what they’re doing or not lining up in a row as if she were about to teach an elementary school class were just unnecessary. Please talk to Sue and help her find some thing that she would enjoy doing with her life. Treehouse deserves the type of positive work environment that it’s servers and chefs create. My review can absolutely change based on the feedback and acknowledgment of the serious problem we have with Sue.

A two-fer of Rolls, Lobster Roll and Cinnamon roll. Today ended up an extra cheat day as I saw on instgram yesterday that @treehouseavonohio was serving Lobster Rolls. I popped in for a menu and a card and left with a HUGE french baguette filled with cold water lobster salad, fresh fruit. This was a two-handed monster of a sandwich. Maine-style, rich and creamy. I also left with the Tree House Lobster Bisque, made with cream, lobster meat, rosemary and spice. And it is “everything nice”. My son devoured the cinnamon roll which was the size of a 45 RPM record. I spoke with the owner, Genevieve Carson, they have been in this location for 27 years and besides amazing food and catering, The Tree House features an eclectic blend of antiques, collectables, quality crafted woodworking and folk art. Make some reservations or grab some food to go from this unique location which was build in 1850. Support local businesses!! My wife and I will return and dine-in.

This is a nice little hidden gem. It is tucked away in Avon's old district. Make a reservation because lunchtime is busy. This was an historic home converted into a restaurant giftshop. We had to wait 20 minutes for a seat in a cozy room. The women there were really enjoying themselves. My wife tried the sandwich and soup. She really loved the lobster bisque. She said it was creamy and loaded with lobster bits. Her ham sandwich was real ham not lunch meat. The plate came with fresh fruit, this was a nice touch. I had the tuna salad, salad. It was extremely fresh. There was a lot of it. The prices are in line with the quality. It is an eclectic quirky little restaurant. I found out that our waitress, Jenna, was the owner. She told me that she likes getting out of the kitchen once a week to serve her customers. It shows because she is excellent. She wants things just right. Parking is a hit or miss. Since this is an old converted home it is not wheelchair friendly.
