We have been to Carrabas many times, the food is fantastic and we never had an issue, however, today we did. I did not even get to eat an entree. Felt like I was being kicked out because I asked for my food to be cooked the way I ordered it. This is how things went: On their website they advertise Stuffed Mushrooms, but according to Jordan, our server, they no longer serve them and it is up to the individual restaurants, so why advertise them? My husband ordered his beverage, an old fashioned from the bar and I had ice tea, we also ordered the Meatballs. We got the Meatballs before he got his drink. Seems that our server Jordan was getting the curb side orders ready and apparently since they are a priority, she just had to get them first. Mind you they were not even busy at the time, ( it was before 4 p.m.), yet other servers were attending to their tables while Jordan ignored hers for curbside pick up. I ordered the new plate, Steak with cheese ball, grape tomatoes and red onions, fettuccine. My husband ordered the Shrimp and Scallop plate. I ordered my steak medium rare, it came out bloody rare. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare. Mind you my husband got his order perfectly made, then Jordan took my plate back, told the cook I wanted it medium rare, then once again went back to her curbside orders. My entree sat under the hot lamps for a good 10 minutes at least, while Jordan finished her curbside orders, then she brought my food back. The plate and food were cold, the cook just let it sit under the heat lamp instead of cooking it. Heat lamps do not keep food hot. How do I know? I worked front of house, back of house, bar, expeditor, cashier, hostess, busses, etc., for over 20 years in food service. Flagged Jordan down, told her the entire plate was cold, she took my plate away, said it would be taken off, but never asked if I would like to order another entree, instead once again she packed up curbside order and dropped off our check. I then told her that she could tell the cook I saw everything he did not do (restsurant has open kitchen) and thanked her for not being able to eat my dinner or even asking if I would like to order something else. She then came back to pick up our tab, said she spoke with the manager (never saw manager. Everything went through Jordan), and they were only going to charge us for our ice tea, the old fashion, and the Meatballs. We never asked her to do that. The whole time all she did was concentrate on her curbside orders, kept apologizing for things. Is this how Carrabas is now doing things? Curbside and take out orders take precedence over in house customers? Sad to say, they lost...
Read moreNice restaurant disappointment in staff I requested my steak well done the waitress clearly wrote that on my ticket! It was closer to closing time. We got our steaks cut into them they were not well done. Our Amazing waitress Ariana took our steaks to The cook and told him they were not well done. "His reply was I already cleaned the grill" She said yes but their steaks were not well done. He basically ignored her she has to tell someone who I think was a manager that our steaks weren't cooked properly. That person told him he had to cook the steaks he threw his cleaning rag down on the counter, held.my steak up raked all the onions and mushrooms that was on my steak in the trash threw a frying pan on the grill and started cooking my steak I let my wonderful waitress know saw the cooks actions and I did not appreciate that especially when im spending $150 on a meal. The next day I called management 4 times each times. 3 times I was told that management was on the phone and would call me back never happened on the 4th time of calling I ask for the number for corporate. a manager was on the phone immediately explain to him how I was treated by the staff he said he will send us a gift card for a free meal. Needless to say I have yet to receive it and highly disappointed. They are lucky to have ariana as a waitress she was great and the only reason I didnt tell them keep the steaks i will pay for my drinks and go because she worked hard to get the steaks cooked the way we asked. She had wonderful customer service and was visibly embarrassed by the lack of customer service. Not to mention I had to go home and cook mine because it still was not well done. Greatly disappointed and...
Read moreDanielle is an excellent server. She took care of us the best she absolutely could. We will be back just to see her.
The restaurant was horribly understaffed for the amount of customers. We waited an hour for a table for 2 after being told it would be 20 minutes. Six other parties walked out because of the wait. We were literally the only people waiting after the six other parties left. And it was still another 20 minutes after that before we were seated.
There was a 10 top, 3 tables w/ 4+ and 5 Or so tables with two each. The issue is there were two servers and two cooks, and one guy playing host, bus boy, take out/Doordash helper and phones.
After we got seated a party of nine came in plus about four more 2–3 party tables.
The staff was trying so hard but were so far behind and it wasn't any fault of their own. They were having to put up with people cussing at them being derogatory and demanding discounts. We even piped up one time to try and help them because this couple just started cussing out the gentleman who was the host for no reason.
Then when it started raining, water started pouring in through one of the windows, it looks like there's some kind of defect with the roof drainage. All they could do was put towels there and hope for the best but it was a micro burst and it was pouring water inside.
I get that Sundays can be hit or miss with the amount of customers but it's better to be overstaffed and send somebody home then to be so understaffed that you lose a ton of business because people were walking out. And it isn't the staff's fault they were busting ass. This is purely a...
