Honestly wow! This was my first ever time visiting this restaurant because my friend wanted to take me out for my birthday. I am so happy that I came. I have tried other Indian restaurants in town and tend to always stick to my one or two favorite ones. I will definitely be adding this onto the list. When you first walk in it is pretty unassuming. They could do with more decor and or furniture. The atmosphere is lacking a little bit… But what it lacks in atmosphere definitely is made up from its amazing food. The staff was also very great and so kind and helped explain the differences in certain dishes (the menu had no photos, I used the DoorDash app to see photographs of some of the menu items) which led to making the perfect choice for our dinner! I highly recommend the Chicken Korma- I ordered Spicy! I really enjoyed how the pieces of chicken were juicy and really flavorful and were actual chunks of what seemed to be chicken thigh versus diced cubes of chicken breast like in chicken tikka masala. It made for a very flavorful dish. We also got Paneer Tikka appetizer and it was also delicious!

What a fantastic discovery in Indian cuisine we made last night. We’ve had Indian food all over the world, but this cuisine was top-notch. We had lamb biryani. We had another shrimp dish and then we had butter chicken with Raita and butter naan bread. We did not have to wait long to be seated, and the server came and took our order very quickly, and even though there were other customers, we got our food very quickly. It was served hot. It was obviously fresh. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. The owner was interested to know we had everything we needed and checked on us. He even brought us a complimentary chai tea at the end of our meal. We will be back! Update: we only made it a couple of days and had to come back. It’s going to be our “treat” to eat here. Fresh, delicious food and you too will get hooked. The second dinner we enjoyed tandoori chicken that melts in your mouth it’s so good and served on a heated cast iron atop vegetables. I had salted Lassi tonight. So good and refreshing.

Aroma of India is a work in progress. The menu is tight compact and full of excellent cuisine. I gave a four star for the food only because some of the food was not available as this is a very new restaurant. The atmosphere is a work in progress. This used to be Hanashi sushi. And some of the Asian influence can still be seen in the decor among the walls and other areas. The staff is above par. The two ladies that serve consistently checking on our table in regular intervals and very attentive when I looked over to them. They always offered more food and made recommendations for desserts. I have high hopes for this restaurant. The food is solid.

If you’re craving some awesome Indian food in Bakersfield, Aroma of India is a must-visit! The food is absolutely delicious, and the flavors are spot on. From Biryanis to Noodles to desserts like Gulab Jamun, everything tasted fresh and authentic. My Favorite was Special Chicken Mughalai Biryani !! You can tell they put effort into every dish—it felt like eating back home! The portions are generous too, so you’ll leave with a happy tummy.

The ambience at Aroma of India is really nice and cozy, perfect for chilling with friends or family. It’s got that warm vibe where you just feel relaxed as soon as you walk in. The place is clean, well-lit, and has a good mix of desi and modern touches. It’s the kind of spot where you can enjoy good food and good vibes.

The staff were super nice and friendly, always checking if we needed anything. Service was quick, and they were happy to explain the menu when we had questions. You really feel taken care of here. Overall, Aroma of India is a fantastic place to enjoy great food and a lovely experience. Highly...
