So because of covid I know restaurants are being handled differently and different rules, but Famous Daveâs did not do well. First of all, right when you walk in itâs very hot in there & also you have to order in the front with the cashier & pay for your food, and then you get to seat yourself to whatever table is available. From there they take your drinks & just gotta wait for your food. From the beginning I shouldâve just left honestly, from getting this weird vibe from the place and the workers/ management. We waited for our food. Meanwhile people who sat minutes after us were being taken their food first. The service was the main concern being all over the place, i know there is a way better way to being served. If other dine in restaurants have it figured out on how to give the best possible service even being in a pandemic why canât famous Daveâs..
The food was delicious, my servings were okay but I wish I could say the same for my husbands servings. They couldâve done better on his. I orders the 2 Meats - Ribs & the Chicken Tenders (I only got 3 small tenders) along with my mashed potatoes & fries (those 2 were delicious) my husband got the 2 meats as well, the brisket & wings - the wings he asked for was âdevil spitâ I believe and the wings surely werenât hot at all. They had a sauce on them but it wasnât the âdevil spitâ @ all, barley had any flavor. Also, we literally got asked how we were doing just twice from being there for about an hour. They donât ask if you need a refill till you get someoneâs attention (was very hard to get someoneâs attention.) Overall it was the service that just gave this place 1 star, only gave 2 because the food was delicious.
Also, when paying for my husbands beer they did take awhile with the card, total was $8.39 w/ taxes but while they were walking around with the card I checked my husband banks account and we were charged for $19.97 I did not ask hoping it is a mistake and will get fixed, but when the Iâm pretty sure was a manager gave us the receipt was for $8.39 so hopefully we only get charged for the $8.39 and the other $19.97 was a mistake. So far I havenât seen any change on his bank account but I will be keeping a look out as well as keeping the receipts for proof.
Like I said an uneasy feeling, shouldâve just let from...
Read moreDonât waste your time. Food was mediocre, service was terrible, and the stench in the bathrooms was so bad they were unusable.
After taking too long to be seated (dining room was empty, and no hostess was around when we walked in) we sat down and asked for waters to drink. The waitress brought out the waters and plopped them all together on the table to where we had to hand them out to everyone in our group.
While ordering your food they donât ask how you like your burger cooked, so the only choice you have is twice well done (to make sure the only flavor is the dark charbroil I guess). A few minutes after ordering they sat another party at the table 2 feet away from us (did I already mention that the rest of the dining room was empty?) so I got to listen to my kids tell me about their day while at the same time hearing what the folks next to us were deciding on what to order.
While waiting for our food my little girl said she needed to use the restroom, so her two older sisters said they would take her. They immediately came back and said the bathroom smelled so horrible that they couldnât stay in there. So I decided to try and take her to the menâs room, hoping it wasnât as bad. I donât know what the cause of the smell was, but you could smell it before even opening the door to the bathroom. Opening the door confirmed the menâs room was inhospitable also.
Everyoneâs water were empty, and we had to wait way too long for the check and a box. While they have a sign saying theyâre short staffed, it was no excuse as the restaurant was dead.
To add insult to the whole thing, they automatically charged us 18% tip because we have 8 in our party. It was me, my wife, and our kids⌠to put it in perspective 3 of the meals were off the little kidâs menu. I believe they used it as an excuse because they knew they did a terrible job and were going to get a tip that reflected it.
For better barbecue go to Pork Chop and Bubbaâs or Saltyâs. For better service go just about...
Read moreMy husband and I went to this place today because for Christmas we received a gift card. This place wasnât busy when we arrived at 1130am. We figured that would be a great time to eat since most people would be at work and we might get better service. Iâm not sure if we walked into the wrong door or what the deal was but the girl who greeted us was cool except that instead of seating us she simply told us where to walk to get to the front to be seated. Again....they werenât busy. After a few seconds of trying to figure things out a guy Finally greeted us and walked us to a table. He got us a couple of drinks and let us know that our server would be with us soon. We ordered a fried onion and my husband ordered a burger and I ordered the bbq pork tacos. My tacos were ok...they really didnât have much flavor so I ended up adding some bbq sauce to try and make them taste better. I would have asked our waitress for some suggestions but she would ask us how we were doing as she wizzed passed our table a few times. We did get a couple of refills on the sodas which was nice. There were at least 4 other servers walking around and didnât seem to be busy or really doing anything but talking to each other. After we had already sat down another table was sat behind us and even though it isnât the restaurants fault the kid behind us was coughing all over the place and sounded pretty sick. (Gross). There was a very loud sound coming out of the wall which we thought might be the pipes? All in all the food was ok at best for our visit. Things werenât entirely unpleasant but there could be some...
