We were really excited to try out this place based on the reviews, but, unfortunately, it did not live up to the expectations. We arrived and were seated in the new "expanded" area that just doesn't match the vibe that the other area has. We looked over the menu and ordered the tacos al pastor and the "vegetable" quesadilla. I was asked if I would like pineapple and everything on my tacos. I said "yes". When the food came out, the tacos didn't have the pineapple or "extras", it was just a taco shell with meat and that's about it. It was VERY average, to say the least. The "vegetable" quesadilla which the menu said had "seasonal vegetables" contained ONLY mushrooms (not even a vegetable). So, it was a chewy tortilla shell, cheese, and mushrooms... for $10. We complained to our server, he went back to his chef, came back to us and said "that's just how it is"... so, we paid our bill (with no discounts), left most of the "food" on our plates, and had to go get dinner somewhere...
Read moreAs someone who is currently active duty military, away from home, and constantly missing what true, authentic Mexican food tastes like, this is the spot. My girlfriend and I go here two to three times a week, especially during $3 Tacos Al Pastor Tuesday.
And although $3 Taco Tuesday is incredible, the rest of their menu is just as amazing. From the daily quesadilla and ceviche that change - getting something different every time my girlfriend and I are there is a wonderful experience, to the consistency of the rest of the menu, there is, quite literally, nothing I would change on the menu.
To some, this place is just a Mexican restaurant that happens to be in Baltimore, Maryland. To me, the food, the atmosphere, the employees, the customers that walk in, they are all reminiscent of what I miss: home. And, for that, this fantastic taqueria receives five stars. Thank you, Chef Valentino Sandoval, for bringing, what I consider, home across...
Read moreThe worst experience I've ever had. I went to check this place out for the very first time. After looking over the menu and not seeing a chicken quesadilla. I ask if they had a chicken quesadilla and what comes in it. It wasn't clear to the staff on what I was asking but after a little back and forth we got on the same page. After paying for my food the cook proceeded to put the RAW chicken on the flat top to cook and the placed the corn tortilla right next to it.I then told her I no longer want that tortilla due to the cross contamination that accurred and asked for new one .She didn't understand and went in the back and a man can to the front .He appeared to be the owner/ manager.I explained the same thing to him and he became defensive and rude.He then asked me if I paid and gave me my money back to leave. He didn't correct the main issue of cross contamination. I would NEVER GO BACK TO A...
