Came here late on a week day night, we live close and wanted to try it out. Service was welcoming when we arrived. I forget our waitress’s name but she was really sweet and gave great service. We were quickly greeted with water + complementary papadum and 3 sauces (DELICIOUS!) and the server told us their specials. We ordered the Bombay Shrimp, Chicken Tika Masala, and Garlic Naan. Everything was really good! The Bombay Shrimp were super flavorful (almost like a Chinese dish) witch was awesome. The Chicken Tika Masala was well seasoned but a little heavy on the cinnamon and it could’ve been spicier in my opinion. We enjoyed it tho! Garlic Naan was 10/10. The rice they serve with the Tika Masala made the dinner. Super fluffy. So good. The restaurant itself is a little bit outdated and could use a little refreshing. But that’s okay. Bathrooms were very clean. Over all the service, food and price/value were all great. We will definitely come back next time we are craving Indian food!

Had an absolutely wonderful dinner at Darbar tonight. I had been to this restaurant for lunch in the past (highly recommend the all-you-can-eat Buffett), but I was excited to see what the dinner experience was like! Safe to say I was NOT disappointed!!! The service was EXCEPTIONAL. It was undeniably some of the best service I've ever received! Wish I had gotten his name. But after providing us with complimentary wine, we dined on delicious samosa chaat and garlic naan bread. Our main courses were the tikka masala (I'm still new to Indian cuisine) and chicken xacuti (spicy and flavorful). I seriously am just sitting at home beaming about the whole experience. I think the restaurant recently switched hands, the owner being our waiter's brother. Although I'm not sure how Darbar was before, I sure do love it now!!

My wife and I went to Darbar for the first time the other night. We know Indian food very well and are always on the lookout for good Indian restaurants. You can generally tell right off the bat if an Indian restaurant is any good if their samosas are good. Darbar’s samosa was nicely crispy without being greasy and the vegetable filling was flavorful—lesser places don’t bother to spice their samosas. We ordered lamb vindaloo, baingan bharta, tandoori chicken, dahl and roti bread and we asked for everything to be hotly spiced. It was, which is also something you don’t always get at Indian restaurants these days. Most of the dishes were flavorful with one exception being the tandoori chicken, which didn’t have the tangy smokiness you expect from this classic dish. It came on a steaming bed of onions and bell peppers, like an Indian fajita—it would be better if served the more traditional way on slightly charred onions and lemon wedges. Nonetheless we largely enjoyed our meal. The service was warm and attentive. We arrived late in their dinner service but they didn’t rush us. All in all, a good neighborhood Indian restaurant that we will be happy...

Absolutely brilliant! I wish I could give 6 stars!

My partner and I visited on 10/23/19 and were blown away. The service was fantastic, great atmosphere and best of all, the food was incredible!

We were provided with a complimentary glass of wine and starter papadums, and each entree was served with a free (and large) serving of rice. We ordered samosas for starters, then the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Korma for entrees; superb. The serving sizes were well and truly large enough for the two of us, with leftovers to spare, and the eventual cost was cheaper than a standard bar dinner.

We have recommended this to our entire network in Baltimore and as we live locally in Fells Point, we will certainly be visiting again! Definitely recommend for anyone looking for great food at a good price, with excellent service;...
