This location is so disappointing for someone who loves everything Jamaican.
I can pick two or three things that were really good on the menu the o first time I ordered it, but everything tasted horrible the second and third time I ordered. The quality of the food just doesn’t seem consistent, so I cannot in good conscience recommend anything. You may get it good one day (cooked that day fresh, hot, well-seasoned), but you don’t get it the same quality the next time.
It is so irritating that the food is not consistent, and painfully obvious that they cook food in advance and reheat it because by the time I get home and it’s a little cool, I’ll reheat it in microwave. After barely heating it up hot, it’s tough (the meats) and the vegetables just taste overcooked. Be careful with the mac and cheese - sometimes it’s fresh, sometimes it’s not. My son actually loves almost any mac and cheese and tonight he actually couldn’t swallow it and had to spit it out because it tasted “old” as he described it. I think there’s a lot of cooking in advance and reheating going on. I am wondering how long they store food, too. I ordered jerk chicken and some other items today (for the last time), and it’s impossible it was cooked fresh today. Impossible! I don’t care what anyone else says I know good food when I taste it and taste isn’t the only criteria- quality is the first. It’s a shame because I really had a good experience the first time I ate jerk chicken there. After that, it just didn’t taste fresh.
My stomach and taste buds are very sensitive to foods that are not freshly cooked the same day. I’m not paying those prices for leftovers. If I wanted leftovers, I’d save my money and eat my own cooking. I think many restaurants operate this way and hey, if you don’t mind leftovers, help yourself but I know a lot of people like me and count on good quality, freshly cooked food when we spend out hard earned money eating out. It’s too expensive, otherwise, especially if you end up throwing a lot away or feeling sick to your stomach later.
I’ve eaten here 3 or 4 times since moving in the area, and the food is just too inconsistent. The customer service is horrible, too. I’m bummed and would love to find an awesome...
Read moreFood was good. Service was not as good. Everyone was nice and polite but it took literally over an hour to receive the one appetizer we ordered. Entrees came out 20 minutes later. We were the only table seated. So, we waited 90 minutes for an appetizer and 4 entrees. Here's where things went sideways. After we get our food (which was good), our server brought out this peanut milkshake kind of thing. At first, I thought oh that's nice she's offering us a free milkshake. But no, just letting us know about items on the menu. The sheer chutzpah of having us wait 90 minutes for a pretty standard amount of food and then trying to upsell us on a milkshake!! Lady, we have had nothing to do for over and hour but look at your menu. If someone wanted a milkshake, we probably would have asked for one. But actually probably not. The speed of delivery would have made us dubious about ever receiving the thing.
The audacity didn't stop there. After we get our food, server comes and checks on us to ask if we like everything. Everyone says yes, and she goes "well, so at least it was worth the wait,". Lol, no it wasn't. I've eaten in many restaurants in my life. Many that make food just as good and often better. It comes out a lot faster! And did I mention the place was empty except for a few folks seated at the bar? The restaurant was not what anyone with eyes would call busy.
I don't like writing mean things about people's businesses. I seldom write reviews and never write negative ones. However, not one but TWO different employees (our server and someone else who was kitchen manager or general manager) explicitly asked us to write a review! After they had taken 90 minutes to deliver an order in a VERY NOT BUSY restaurant!
So here's the review. Don't go if you have somewhere to be in the next 2-3 hours. You'll be late.
Oh! I almost forgot - 18% gratuity added LOL. Honestly, probably for the best. 18% is probably around the high watermark of what I would have left if I had been given a choice, so I'm glad that was taken out of my hands.
This was our second time at Judy's and the first trip was only marginally better. The first time was a tad quicker but they made the wrong dish for my daughter. There will not be a...
Read moreWe had a fantastic🤩 experience at this restaurant as we had our monthly Special Olympians dinner. For May, we celebrated Mother’s Day🌸 and the beautiful experience of parenthood while tasting some phenomenal eats. We had everything from appetizers🫕 to Happy Hour food🥟 to drinks 🍹 and they did not disappoint. We are especially thankful for the amazing service from start to finish from the phone call 📞 making the reservations to when we arrived a few minutes late due to the parking 🅿️ nightmare. Our server explained EVERYTHING from the happy hour menu🌮🍤🫒 and everything in between, some of the dishes we had were jerk chicken🍗tacos🌮, curry shrimp🦐 tacos🌮, curry chicken & rice🍚, lamb chops, jerk chicken & rice, Pineapple & Ginger Rum 🍹 and more. We had a sensational time. You could taste😋 the love ❤️ in every morsel. There was so much detail put into every dish, including the appetizers. Although we try a different restaurant every month, we all agreed that this restaurant is worth going to again. The ambience, along with the food and phenomenal service deserve a second visit🚙. They also have a great upstairs that can be used for parties 🎈🎉 year around. My only caution ⚠️ would be about parking🅿️, but that’s to be expected in Canton🤪 and is out of the restaurant’s control. Leave your home early to give enough time to drive 🚗around for a parking spot 😅or Uber/Lyft😊. I give 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for this fun, unforgettable (in a good way) experience. From our server Demetria to the tasty treats🍰🥮 of Genevieve👩🏾🍳 and the other team members that spoke 🗣️every time they walked by the table🍽️, we appreciate having this wonderful time, celebrating 🥳 and communicating, and coming together to fellowship with...
