It wasn't clear to me when ordering over the phone that this was the BANGOR Pepino's and not the BREWER Pepino's, so it took me an extra 15 minutes to get there after I had to find out the hard way that I had gone to the wrong place to pick up my food. This could very easily have been avoided by them simply answering the phone, "Bangor Pepino's...". I then struggled to find the exact location, as I didn't even know of this restaurant's existence, and the GPS brought me a quarter of a mile away from it. A big sign on the building or by the road would certainly help customers locate this restaurant as the GPS directions seem to be faulty. I was lucky there was a passer-by that I was able to ask for directions from. When I finally did find the restaurant, it was 10 minutes before they closed (which apparently was at 8pm on a Saturday night 🤷), and the door marked "Entrance" was locked. I knocked for a solid full minute before one of the two employees that I could see from outside finally gestured to me to use the other door which ended up being unlocked. Not the end of the world, but why bother having a door marked "Entrance" if you can't, in fact, ENTER through it, and why bother staying open until the "late" hour of 8pm on a Saturday night if you're going to lock the door early on customers? I figured the quality of the food would at least still be up to par with the Brewer Pepino's (which is fantastic), but this was not the case. $80 and over an hour of driving later (I live 20 mins away), and I finally got home to enjoy the food with my girlfriend. I was very disappointed in how sloppily it was thrown together and the fact that at this point it was now completely cold. As we tried to make the best of it and just be thankful we had something edible, my girlfriend found a long, dark HAIR in one of her fish tacos. It was completely disgusting, and we both lost our appetites altogether at that point. We will NEVER patronize this location again, and I will forever warn others to avoid it as well. The Pepino's Taco Stand in Brewer is consistently amazing and always well worth the wait. Their Bangor counterpart, however, (I assume the two are affiliated...?) doesn't even deserve a second chance from us. Horrible experience all around. 0/10, would...
Read moreI have visited this Mexican restaurant multiple times, and each visit has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment you walk in, the service leaves an unforgettable impression. Tonight, I had the pleasure of being served by Liz, one of the best bartenders I have ever encountered.
Not only were the drinks crafted to perfection—better than any I’ve ever had—the level of service Liz provided was unparalleled. She attended to my every need with genuine care, making me feel truly valued as a customer. Liz didn't just serve drinks; she created an experience. She was attentive, engaging, and incredibly personable, ensuring every detail was perfect. Her warm and friendly demeanor made me feel right at home, and her skill behind the bar was evident in every drink she made.
Liz went above and beyond in every way possible. She remembered my name, anticipated my needs, and even offered recommendations that turned out to be spot on. Her passion for her craft and her dedication to providing top-notch service were clear in every interaction. Liz is the epitome of what a great bartender should be, blending professionalism with a personal touch that is rare to find.
The food here is consistently amazing. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, bursting with authentic flavors and beautifully presented. The servers are always attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive dining experience. The level of service and the quality of drinks remind me of the high standards you’d expect in Las Vegas, but I would choose this place every single time over anywhere else.
The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the service is impressively fast. Liz, the bartender, is not just outstanding at her job but also an incredible person. She has set the bar high for any future dining experiences.
I have been wanting to leave a review every single time I've been here, but I either get too busy or short of time. I encourage everybody to at least take the time out to leave a review so everyone can know how amazing this place is.
Overall, this place is a gem—great food, fantastic service, and a wonderful atmosphere. Highly...
Read moreUnfortunately had a pretty bad experience. Really appealing aesthetic. Service was alright. Walked in on Cinco de Mayo and saw leis, paper pineapples, and pre-made margaritas in an Igloo cooler, so was pretty confused and doubtful at the door. I understand the premade margaritas for to-go orders, but maybe don't serve the pre-made igloo margaritas to your dine in customers. Asked for a drink menu, they said they don't have one, but they have a full bar, so my girlfriend asked if she could have a mojito and was told we can't do that. Ok so not a full bar. Pre-made margaritas it is. Nothing worth getting upset about honestly, until we got our food. When we got our food, we both had one bite, paid, and left. We didn't want any replacements, anything comped, we felt after that nothing good would come. I have never had more bland Mexican food with so little effort put in. I ordered chicken enchiladas, hoping something simple would be easy to knock out of the park. It came out and it was just shredded chicken wrapped in a tortilla absolutely drenched in melted cheese and even more so with sour cream on top of that, covering everything. Only those 4 ingredients. There wasn't even sauce. Girlfriend couldn't eat more than one bite of the grease chimichanga because it too was basically rotisserie chicken and if it was seasoned, she couldn't taste it. I feel bad because so many people recommended this place and maybe I got my hopes up. But what my girlfriend and I ate was not Mexican food, nor was it American-Mexican. Im sorry I cannot recommend Pepino's to anyone after our experience and we're not willing to give it...
