I'm one of those people who immediately starts perusing reviews of local restaurants months ahead of my actual vacation and Everyday Joe's was one of the first I bookmarked. Why do you ask, what is so special about this little restaurant that's actually attached to a gas station, well allow me to enlighten you - grilled blueberry muffins. I have been thinking about these muffins since April when I booked our trip and I can assure you that I will be dreaming about them until we return next year. The muffins are cut in half and come out slightly crispy on the inside and the butter just melts into every small crevice, the perfect salty sweet ratio and the plump Maine blueberries burst in your mouth and ya gotta love that these were served first, desert first is clearly not just a motto I live by. Hubby and I also shared the Rise & Shine Breakfast $8.99 for 2 eggs, home fries, choice of meat and toast. The scrambled eggs were tender and fluffy, the potatoes perfectly seasoned and the sausage fresh and flavorful. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and since this place is located the opposite end of the pier parking was easy to come by. We were only in town for 3 days this time so we tried to spread the love to as many local restaurants as we could but rest assured that next time this will be our go to...
Read moreI hate to do this, but I need to post this as a warning. Do not order the seafood ramen. I don’t care how cold and/or how rainy it is. I don’t care how soaked to the bone you are from parking blocks away and wading down the street. Do not, under any circumstance, order the seafood ramen.
This was one of the worst things I’ve eaten in my entire life. The “seafood” was rubbery and the broth tasted like it was dipped directly from Frenchman Bay.
The service was alright. We got there about an hour before they closed, so I didn’t expect a Disney-like magical experience, but it was okay.
The Philly was good. I’d recently been through Philadelphia, so it wasn’t that good, but it was good enough.
My son really enjoyed the gyro. I didn’t try it, so I cannot give an opinion on the matter.
The fries were delicious. Not as good as Paddy’s, on the other end of the street, but they were really good.
Again, do not order the seafood ramen. Oh, it wasn’t even ramen; it was spaghetti! And I didn’t detect any egg in it. But, on a positive, if you like to eat hot, what I can only assume is the “chewing gum of the sea” then this had plenty of that in it.
You have been warned.
(Update… my stomach will not stop churning. I’m worried for what...
Read moreIf you're in the charming town of Bar Harbor, Maine, and in search of a fantastic meal, look no further than Everyday Joe's. My recent visit to this delightful eatery left me utterly impressed and thoroughly satisfied. I had the pleasure of trying their Reuben and Turkey Club sandwiches, and I can confidently say they were nothing short of amazing. You'll feel right at home in this charming establishment.
Now, let's talk about the food. The Reuben sandwich I ordered was a masterpiece. The corned beef was perfectly tender and packed with flavor, and the sauerkraut and Swiss cheese added a delightful tanginess and creaminess to each bite. The rye bread was grilled to perfection, providing that satisfying crunch with every mouthful. It was a harmonious combination of ingredients that left my taste buds dancing with joy.
The Turkey Club sandwich was equally impressive. The turkey was juicy and piled high, and the bacon was crispy and flavorful. The addition of fresh lettuce, tomato, and mayo added a refreshing contrast to the savory components of the sandwich. It was a...
