I came here with my partner on opening day to check out the Pump it Up Phoenix dance game. As a serious dance game player who would spend a lot of time and money at this location, I have a few suggestions to make that would make the experience much better:
The volume on the Machine is too low and I can barely hear the songs, so please increase it.
The machine is offline. Pump it Up has a lot of content that is only accessible if the machine is online. Also, when the game is brought online, please make the premium mode the same number of credits as it is now, since this make the game much more playable for serious players who want to access premium mode content. This also brings me to my next point:
Please sell Pump it Up AM.Pass game cards. These are cards specifically for saving player data for Pump it Up, and are necessary for accessing and unlocking most of the game's content.
The temperature inside the facility was too hot, especially with as many guests as there were, so please turn down the air.
The location of the machine is not very good. There is very little space around the machine for people who are waiting to play to stand without being in the way of the other guests. It would be best to put the Pump it Up machine in an area with more space around it, along with places to sit for guests waiting their turn to play. Since players get very hot while playing this game, it would also be extremely nice of there was a fan to blow air at players while they are playing on the machine.
You are the only location in West Virginia with the newest version of Pump it Up, which will draw all of the local players who have no where else to go, so this is a prime opportunity to make Dave and Busters a go to hang out spot for this crowd. Dance game players spend hours playing multiple days of the week, so this game alone could generate a lot of income for this location if you take these simple steps to increase the quality of the customer experience. I hope these suggestions are helpful and I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time at...
Read moreWe've been to this location 4 times since it opened! (My 14 year old son was the first in line on opening day! He was a little disappointed that he didn't receive anything special for being first, like other stores have given out at their grand openings, but the all day free play was great.)
We've eaten twice at the restaurant. Both times, we've received quick and attentive service. And, when we had a problem with using an offer from my app, management was quick to correct the error. The food was well-presented and served at the right temperature. It was better than I thought it would be. The portion sizes were more than enough and a good value for the price, compared to other restaurants in the area. I can't speak to the bar area, as we don't drink alcohol, but the few times that we've asked for water at the bar (after playing in the arcade), they were quick and friendly. I appreciate the fact that they had the TVs muted in the dining area, as some places are overwhelmingly loud due to the TVs.
The arcade area has a great selection of games, really something for everyone. Skill games, timing games, physical games, throwing games, racing games, coin pushers, claw games, shooting games, duck claw game, etc. We've not yet tried the arena or the darts or social shuffle. I highly recommend that you download their app, as they regularly send offers for bonus chips. Right now, each Monday night, you can win 50 chips if you pick the winner of MNF. And, go to the arcade on Wednesdays to play the games for half price. The techs have been extremely helpful and friendly when we've had issues with payouts and game errors. Those who work at the Winners circle have also been helpful and friendly, even cheering us on and celebrating with us when we won the Jackpot on Goatz N Ropes!
Do yourself a favor and give this...

My husband and I came to Dave & Buster’s in Barboursville craving some good, crappy, cafeteria-style pizza and video games—this place delivered!
We were seated immediately, and our server was incredibly sweet. Our food came out fast, and everything hit the spot. My husband is a fried pickle purist, and he loved their fried pickles (chips, not spears—an important distinction to him, lol). The pretzel dogs were tasty, and the pizza absolutely satisfied our craving. For two sodas and three entrées, our total was around $45 before tip, which felt reasonable. Portions were just right.
Then, we grabbed a $20 game card—only to realize it was half-off game night! We played everything we wanted (including some surprises) and still had 15 tokens left over. The game selection was fantastic—having both The Walking Dead and Halo shooters was impressive, plus Mario Kart and Minecraft! We got way more into Minecraft than we expected.
As a HUGE DDR fan, I was thrilled to see they had Pump It Up! I’ll admit I prefer DDR (better song selection, in my opinion), but it was great to play a dance game with zero wait time. Given how rare DDR machines are these days, I’ll take what I can get!
The staff mentioned weekends get crazy busy, so if you’re a young couple looking for a fun, relaxed night out, I highly recommend going on a Tuesday or Wednesday night like we did. The tristate area needed more solid entertainment, and I’m so glad we have this spot. We’ll...
