Was very tired and ready to just rest a minute. My mobile key was rejected because shady front desk people want to add charges at the last minute which happens sometimes but a decent place will alert you with the final charge .My reservation shows exact amount due and the card info that will be charged and says you're all ready for check in...Back to the front desk girl who worked Thursday night when we arrived who stared at us and never smiled or even said hello or how are you Welcome? Nothing! and no one else was even there waiting..She was on phone of course too busy to acknowledge us.. I was like Helloooo?? Ask her why my card was rejected and it was only then she said oh?we added 3 days of essentials ..So, why did the confirmed reservation price and all the final details show that BEFORE ? And, yeah it will go back on card later sometime..meanwhile they would not give me a room until that was covered as well? Did not care or offer any type of sympathy or understanding.I offered to pay the extra's in cash and use another card for that only..but no, had to be now on the same card? Told them my bank is 20 minutes over in OH and she did not care..ask her to call her supervisor and she act she did and said no.So, had no choice but to leave again and go get that done..How unsympathetic and rude! In this day and time there are many ways to pay and sove this issue if they cared..but they did'nt..But when the guys came in to the front desk ..oh how firty and talkative she became then..smh..She should go to the parking lot and work at the strip club with that attitude.. Next finally get checked in the room and find this place is not clean..no extra toilet paper ,dirty floors have not been vacuumed apparently in a while, the air vents have serious dust and dirt on them, the white comforter has blood stains and nasty looking inside over dated issues..who wants to sleep with blood stains and nasty blankets? Stains on the sofa cushions and dust and hair under it with someone else's long brown hair on the sheet..fridge was stinking so bad didn't use it..The head board of bed's are hard and not comfortable ..The coffee pot was filthy in and out along with the counters nearby ..bathroom floors were dirty with hair and pubic looking hair and dirt on foor..Thought we could have a nice swim at least..Ha! the room was soo humid and hot and the pool was cloudy and questionable looking!..Only nice thing about this place was the nice clear salt fish tank and fish..i'm guessing someone else comes to care for that obviously. And the air is very good in the room although it blows through dirty vents..The workout room has nice equipment..The halls are very humid and warm..The so called bistro cafe is shut down half the time and completely on the advertised fourth floor apparently others said don't waste you're money or time.Others said they were missing items in the rooms or public area..Online the advertising for this place seems like it has all this and nice until you get here and see al the true facts..3 days for 550.00?? Forget about asking them to correct or fix any issues..they do not care..even called 800 customer service and complained to 2 people..the first lady was very nice and apologetic..she sent me to talk to supervisor and he claimed to call and ask for comensation and said they declined but he was not very sympathetic actually. My relaxing enjoyable getaway time that cost me 550.00 was a joke.Cannot believe this suppose to be a Marriot line? Should have went to the motel 6 for this treatment and saved money. The local sheetz gas staying nearby had the friendiest nice people..This Delta Marriot was the strangest...
Read moreI stay at Marriotts ~44 weeks a year.
I literally never get Marriott Surveys and rarely leave reviews:
While this hotel is literally brand new, it is my well documented belief that they opened their doors too soon. Its a shame that such a beautiful hotel has service that is polar opposite
Backstory: My company gets preferred pricing with Hilton, so I have to pay out of pocket for the difference in price when I book Marriott, but I am loyal so i do it anyways.
I booked a King room 2 weeks before my arrival for an 11 night stay.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very nice fellow who explained to me that the mobile keys were not working.
The next 4 nights consisted of intermittent Wifi issues that literally hindered the use of the internet so I had to leave to use wifi in order to do my work. ( I reported this every night and was told that they were aware and working on it)
Over the course of the entire 11 nights, I had to get 7 new room keys issued. Finally I was able to get the battery replaced on my door(weird because the hotel is brand new)
During the second week of my stay on night number 8, the water literally started pouring our BROWN WATER, literal brown water. THEN the water turned off completely, Same for the sink. Fast forward 2 hours and the sink began to work...but with brown water coming out only...then it went off again.
That night I was told 'maintenance left for the night, but I will leave a note and have it fixed tomorrow while you work', so that night I had to go to another hotel to shower(I did not want to have to pack everything back up)
The next night after work, I get to my room to find out that I was still without water, they then send someone up to the room who tells me that a water main had broken the night before and they never turned my water back on...he told me that he couldnt fix it, but the engineer would be back in the morning and they would fix it first thing...(yet another payment to a motel just to use the shower)
Cue the last night of my stay when I am told that "the engineer said everything was fixed, but was gone for the night"
There was a baseball team that stayed at the hotel as well that was extremely loud during the night, my room was across from a waffle house and other businesses with lights that are blinding all night..so my only options were full blackout or blinding lights. We share a road with a strip club that allowed for more interaction with drunk people in a parking lot than I am comfortable with.
Finally: I had to call to get a copy of my folio 2 weeks later, I was informed they didnt have real email yet so they sent it to me from a Holiday Inn Express gmail account....
With me being in the Legal profession, I have the pictures/videos of the brown water and no water...recorded phone calls to the front desk, and recorded each interaction I had with hotel staff.
Since my stay I have called the hotel 14 times and received no response, I even emailed the GM and received...
Read moreI'm new to staying out of town so upon check in, I asked for any pamphlets/flyers/etc that could give me hotel info such as the times this opens, when that closes... I was told he only works night shift and knows nothing about day time hours.
I'm used to breakfast behind included, keep in mind. When looking for silverware, my need for assistance was obvious. I resorted to feeling awkward reaching into the employee area and saying, "Um, i guess I'm just gonna take one of these? Is that ok?" She answered back that it was, yet I could easily mistake her for mocking me.
I eat a small amount since I came down near the end of breakfast and it wasn't anywhere near fresh. I looked around for a place to take my plate. Nothing. I push my plate away to show I'm finished and continue to look around... Nothing. I go to stand, thinking maybe they bust the tables here, and intend to leave my plate.
This is when the breakfast attendant pops up beside me with a bill. $12 for stale/room temp breakfast without a drink. My last bit of cash. I'm only staying to train for a new job and scraping until I can start collecting pay.
Well, at least there's coffee in the room....
I get a letter stating they aren't CLEANING my room unless I request it. If I were to request it, I would feel so rude! Nah, I'll leave them be.
I get back in the late evening, tired, I notice I have no coffee, no sugar, no clean stir stick, and I look around to see NOTHING was stocked.
So, by cleaning, they also meant they wouldn't be stocking?
Not sure, because they stocked it the next day, after forgetting to "request" anything... Someone must've skipped my room. No big deal. Except it's skipped the next day as well..
More information for your guests upon arrival would've cleared so much up! I even looked for little cards, flyers, ANYTHING, even a note to explain why there's wifi specifically for each room... No info. Not all of us are used to staying out of town for longer than a three day weekend, ya know...
And for housekeeping to decide on a lobby meeting when there's clearly a guest in the middle of a phone call... I mean, my facial expression clearly told them that I'm looking for someone who is meeting me here, business associate judging by my foreman tone of voice....
It is not enough to be livid with an entire department, no. However, I treated guests as priority when I worked at Stonewall Resort. That was not at all what Delta did this past week. I'm headed back Sunday night, though. Better luck...
