Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken — Restaurant in Bardstown

Pre-ordered online at 11 am for a larger chicken order to be ready at 6:30pm as we were having a family gathering at 7. I arrived at 6:30 to find a packed house and drive thru around the building. I waited my turn at the counter and informed the cashier I was there for a pickup order and gave my name. My order hadn't been started at all. I waited as other patrons came, placed orders, and left. I tried to be patient, but after 20 minutes, I asked for someone to check on my order status. The girl was rude and rolled her eyes as if I was being impatient. I tried very hard to give them the benefit of the doubt, but they clearly dropped the ball and weren't mindful of any online orders. Other customers were amazed I could keep my composure. I don't think they should've placed my order in a que after I arrived, competing with incoming customers and those in the drive-thru. After 35 minutes, I was finally given my chicken order. Please don't take online orders or any pre-orders if the facility can not honor them. It's a bad situation for everyone. I'll order from Kroger...

Best fried chicken we’ve had for our first time in KY. Location is good. It’s in a shopping enter that’s easy to get to. Inside the restaurant, it’s a bit cramped where you have to order. That section had the drink fountain, condiments table, trash bins, and entrance to the restroom. It was really crowded. Staff were very nice. Menu was good. I loved that they actually had liver and gizzards as a combo meal. I love that!! I ordered that and it was so delicious. My husband ordered the number 1 and it was super moist. The breading could’ve been a bit better but the chicken was fried to perfection. Sides were absolutely delicious. Recommend the green beans. Biscuits are delicious as well. Sweet tea was also refreshing. No complaints on the recipe for sure. Awesome recipe!! Service was on point. Prices are great. Table seating was adequate. We used to go to Lees quite a bit but here in the last few months our order is always wrong and they are out of stuff on the menu. I have made several online orders to pick up lunches and have been missing half the order when I get back to work. We ordered four dinners tonight and when we got home two of the dinners were missing sides that I paid extra for and the biscuits looked like someone had smashed them in their hand and then put them in the boxes. They were in pieces and not edible. The chicken strips were cold not even warm. Had to heat up what we did get to eat. The food quality has really gone down the drain at this location.
