The Cape Cod Caribbean Cafe in Hyannis is my go-to spot whenever I’m on the Cape. I manage a few summer rental properties in the area, and two of them are in Hyannis, so I often find myself stopping by this location. I like that they open early and keep the menu simple with a smaller selection of dishes.
I have to agree with some of the other reviews—it’s a bit of a mixed experience here. On the positive side, there is one server I really admire: she appears to be an older woman, short, with dark skin and natural hair. She is always polite, kind, and actually greets you with a smile, which makes a difference.
However, the rest of the staffs could use improvement. The cashiers at checkout often look unhappy, distracted, or on their phones, and they don’t seem very customer-focused. It would also be nice if the owner enforced a uniform or at least head coverings for staff to create a more professional appearance.
When you first walk in, the environment isn’t very welcoming. Sometimes, you see young men just hanging out and sitting on the counter top. For such a great location and concept, I feel like the owner could benefit from paying more attention to visitor feedback and making a few small improvements.
Overall, I keep coming back for the convenience and food, but I’d love to see the service and atmosphere better match the potential...
Read moreThe good Prices were excellent and the amount of food was great The sauce had an excellent flavor and blended very well with the rice and peas. The food had a home cooked flavor to it and was overall delicious.
The bad They didn't have any jerk chicken so I decided to try the curry chicken. This I understand because it was later in the day, but they also didn't have any veggies, which was pretty disappointing. The woman taking the orders had a slight attitude, especially when asking any questions about what was available. I also asked for a side of hot sauce which she seemed to just ignore. A few pieces of the chicken were so dry I couldn't eat them.
Overall I'd be back especially because of the reasonable prices, I'd just make sure to get there earlier so more dishes...
Read moreThe place is nice overall, but that young girl in the restaurant is disgustingly rude. I’m not from that town, I just happen to be passing through and spent a night at the comfort inn and needed some decent breakfast, so if I’m asking you a question and you think that you’re too good to answer or don’t feel the need to because obviously I’m new to the restaurant, then it’s obvious you don’t like you’re job. I’ve worked in customer service for quite a portion of my life so I know how frustrating customers can be, so when I go into a business place I treat them with respect, but that girls dismissive behavior and attitude was very rude and...
