I wrote I would return and did the next month. Text & e-mail communication remains Extraordinaire! The check in time was changed to "as soon as I arrive". The front desk very welcoming & helpful and I am going to call it a "concierge" phone number was handed to me for any thing I should need for these limited / off-season hours of operation for the holiday. I stayed Dec. 23-25th Merry Christmas Weekend. At this time of year a unique prospective was offered at the Cape Cod Inn, Hyannis. The room offered was under the breeze way across from the 9-5 heated swimming pool up the stairs on the second floor.||||The room or "home away from home" was cleaner than my own room at home. The mattress offered good back support, nice n cold mini fridge, the room next door was also booked but it was so quite, peaceful and restful like at my own private Inn (off-season). This also maybe because the bathroom had a nice surprise, a working jacuzzi tub! / shower. And I all ways appreciate free parking!||||On Dec. 25th Christmas morning I did have to contact the front desk "concierge" to help me open my Christmas present rather to unlock my very own private 9-5 heated indoor swimming pool for an exercise swim before Christmas Mass. ||||The only problem I had with this stay @ the Cape Cod Inn, is that I feel like they have converted me to a frequent (flyer) Inn stayer @ this one of nine Meads Bay Hotel Group locations and its so many miles away to...
Read moreI don’t believe it’s at all an understatement to say most of the positive reviews are very misleading. |Negatives: Our furnishings were “older and mismatched” as tho they were purchased already used years ago from several other hotels. (Not at all quaint!) Over all it felt musty and dirty. The remote was dirty to the point of having built up grunginess and was very sticky . The bathroom was actually not even fully cleaned! That in itself makes it a below standard hotel. It’s also very evident that the “handy-man” that fixes things, paints, grouts etc hasn’t done this type of work before and is learning as he goes! Obvious even to an untrained eye he does poor quality work. |Positives: 1) The female owner was “very pleasant” when we checked in! She was the best part of our stay. 2) The bed linens were clean and crisp. 3) The towels in the bathroom were nicely folded and hung, and the toiletries nicely arranged. “Unfortunately” those nice touches were like putting lipstick on a pig, when done in bathroom that was visibly not properly cleaned!!!|We reserved our room weeks ahead of time and we paid around $250 for prime season rate. |When we complained to the male in charge we got “polite words.” But he wasn’t willing to do much! Actually they ended up doing nothing at all! |Our stay was very disappointing. If we weren’t so exhausted when we arrived (10pm) we...
Read moreBooked this place because it was the closest to town and the train station with enough stars to be acceptable. The room was a decent size, had an odor but wasn't too bad - a weird cleaning smell that got better once the A/C ran for awhile. Windows can be opened which also helped. Room had been renovated, the bathroom was small but very nice and the shower head spray was surprisingly wonderful. Some crumbs noted next to the beds and it needed a deeper cleaning along the walls. Carpet could be cleaner. Beds were OK. Not enough outlets if you need to charge more than one phone (outside of the bathroom). The fridge was a nice surprise and there was also an iron and board, 2 luggage racks, a table and chairs, and a large dresser. Staff was friendly and responsive. Caveat - to ensure a good sleep, get a second floor room - we suffered the crashing and thumping of a family with a teenager until 3 a.m. that only stopped after I banged the ceiling with my ironing board. We did not try the continental breakfast or the pub. A plus for families - there is a small arcade with an easy-to-use swipe card and bowling alley right next door. The duck mobile tours leave right out front. Fantastic location for accessing all the Main St....
