Apr 26, 2015 Would I return? NO!. That is the question I ask myself first when rating a restaurant. The answer for Chang's is a definite NO! The food wasnt bad, it just wasnt good either. I got a chicken dish, beef dish. and noodle dish so I could get a decent sampling of what their food is like. All of it was incredibly greasy. It also lacked flavor. It was greasy and bland. Not the worst Chinese food I've had. But not something I would want to do again. Also I need to mention that this place does not take credit or debit cards. Cash only. In this day and time, when few people use cash (not to mention the dangers of carrying cash), a business simply can not afford to not accept...

One thing that sets it apart is the fresh, home-grown bean sprouts John uses in his recipes, including the fried rice. The egg foo young is the best I've found in Memphis as well. The egg rolls are good, but what takes them over the top is the homemade duck sauce. The shrimp with lobster sauce is unique and very good, too. there isn't a dish I've tried at Chang's that was disappointing. I've grown up in Bartlett and tried literally dozens of Chinese restaurants around Memphis, and Chang's beats them all in that department. The rest of the menu is better-than-average Chinese food with a good variety. It's a very small place, and most of their business comes from take-out (although there are always seats available for smaller groups). I'd recommend getting a menu on your first trip, taking it home, and calling in your order...
