China Buffet — Restaurant in Bastrop

My children and I go here quite often and while the customer service is nice enough, the bathrooms are always clean and plenty of seating areas I have seen issues.

There is an ice cream station but no one serves it. There is a scoop in a cup of water to get your ice cream out of these big ice cream containers. You don't know how long the water had been sitting there and customers are reaching down into this freezer container leaving the possibility of hair or anything else off a person falling in. It's sitting over in a corner. The buffet has many other dessert options. The ice cream freezer in my opinion is a bad idea.

The buffet itself is usually​ very good. I have only had one instance of a hair in my food. They apologized and gave me a discount but I still wasn't happy. There are plastic slats over the food on the buffet so I don't think it was a customer's hair. I think it came from a worker in the kitchen. This did happen a year ago and had not happened to us since.

Don’t come here! The bathrooms are dirty, floors and chairs too. Food cold and pricey for the experience that we had. . I went there with my family yesterday. 1st I enter and the floors are dirty with food below the table. 2nd I’m going to sit and the chairs are sticky with liquid spills. I ask the lady to clean it she just say yes and gave me other chairs from other table and let those chairs on the other table, she never clean it. 3rd I’m going to eat and the food was cold almost every food was cold. Then for last I went to the bathroom because a long trip was waiting for me and it was full of ##### they don’t even flush the toilet or clean it full of their thing too like they use the bathroom for storage. In conclusion I hope my day on that Restaurant made you take another desicion. This is my first bad review I don’t give bad reviews to anything but I had to do it. Was pretty skeptical based on recent reviews, and the appearance of the buffet around 5:45pm reinforced my doubts. Buffet was a splattered mess with picked over serving trays of skinned over dregs. I started with a few pieces of salmon sushi that were simply too old and dry to eat. However, right about 6:00pm they brought out many freshly cooked dishes, mostly various meat with vegetable Chinese dishes, all of which were edible and tasted pretty good overall. However, during the hour or so I was there there were still some leftover lunch dishes that were not replenished, removed, nor given any attention at all, nor was the buffet ever cleaned that I saw. The food seemed of appropriate temperature, both the hot and cold items, I haven't gotten sick like others reported.
