Went into Bastrop, TX. Hobby Lobby to make a return on several items I had purchased earlier in the day. I first put a large sign on the counter and was waiting for the cashier to move it so I could put the other items I was holding on the counter. That is when she handed me a refund receipt for the sign. I said Ma'am I am returning everything. She said " Everything "? She (Misty) Then started unwrapping some items and slamming them down on the counter. I told her I was sorry I upset her. She ignored me and continued slamming breakable items on the counter. I then asked to speak to a manager. Misty then said " I just got embarrassed because I didn't ask if you were returning everything . I guess she thinks that justifies her behavior. I told her I wouldn't be paying for stuff she breaks buy slamming them on the counter. I then finish helping her take the items out of the bag. Got my refund and left. I sat in my car and looked at the 2 receipts which didn't add up to the original total. I went back into the store and asked to speak to the Manager. When he came out I explained what Misty did and that because she didn't put it all on one refund it was shorting me money. Eric (the manager) did not apologize for anything! He told me he wasn't sure if he could do anything because the items had already been returned. I told him he needed to figure it out, that was Misty's mistake. I wouldn't be paying for his employee to slam items down on the counter at me. He had to go call someone, came back and said he was going to try it. Got another employee Christina ( which was very kind and apologetic for the way I was being treated). While she was trying to fix the mistakes on the first transaction, I told Eric that I was appalled that a Christian based business allows employees to treat customers like that. No apology, he said he was trying to get my refund. I asked who his boss was, he said he could give me the corporate number (Eric, the "manager " gave me a fax number). Waiting to see if I get my money back. Thankfully no one was hurt while Misty slammed the glass items down on...
Read moreIndividul results may vary but I usually never have issues here they have great deals and sales on top of sales, of course most of their inventory is made in China and costs them pennies on the dollar so they bring the savings on home to you.. not sure if it's a "deal" when you charge way more than an item is worth so that you can mark it down slightly and call that a sale. But I guess that is capitalism at its finest. Also once upon a time I heard that since they are a Christian organization they dislike some of our community that is considered alternative for their sexual preferences which leaves me wondering what that has to do with beading or macrame or grow your own crystal kits? They won't chase you out of there with pitch forks and torches if you seem different as far as I know. They just don't want you working there or existing on earth..no big deal right? I'm not sure why they are always 5 holidays ahead of the actual calendar and seem to never completely clear the floor of Christmas decor but maybe it's just part of their religious freedom hanging out perpetually. Dont show up on Sunday or you're going to be dissapointed because they are closed. God and crafters gotta take a break sometimes..So in short if you are crafty and enjoy being visually overstimulated and slightly sweaty from the overhead lights that completely cover the entire ceiling, this place is the ticket for all your needs. Unless you do taxidermy ..I dont think they offer anything for you guys.. but maybe one day there will be an aisle devoted to dead things, as long as they...
Read moreFirst visit to the Bastrop Hobby Lobby in March 2021 was extremely disappointing. I was shopping the fabric department with a new appliqué kit project. I needed several items of fabric, fusible web, and batting. I saw four women in the fabric department; three of whom were rearranging the ribbon section. I asked for assist several times with various questions about some of their products and they all seemed preoccupied with other tasks which apparently didn’t include customer service. I was told by each woman that she did not sew and couldn’t do anymore than point me to the area where I was on my own to figure it out. I was also having trouble finding a HL 40% off coupon and was told that HL had cancelled that in Feb. I spent $180 during this trip. I spent quite a lot of time choosing fabrics, notions, and equipment to complete my project. This was my first time doing an appliqué, so I was purchasing equipment for future projects. The staff was not helpful or even friendly toward me. I’m a cherry person and don’t normally experience difficult sales persons. When I got to the person cutting the fabrics, she too never cracked a smile and she was not a sewing craft person either! Why on earth would management assign non sewers to the sewing department? I doubt I’ll ever visit the Bastrop Hobby Lobby again. I’ll find a Joann’s, instead. For me, it’s a 45 minute drive to Bastrop, so I’ll drive on in to Austin or Brenham, instead. See Ya,...
