Stubbys Grill — Restaurant in Bath (Berkeley Springs)

We tried this place for dinner tonight and were extremely disappointed. We had read these amazing reviews so being foodies were excited to try it out. I can honestly say we have no idea where these ravings are coming from and we are very easy to please people. They are new to Berkeley Springs so we were eager to give it a try. First, I will say the staff is friendly and service was good. The menu offered a variety of delicious sounding food. I would say menu needs a bit of improvement for clarity/specification but not a bad start. The issue comes from the food and the price. Now we have no problem paying a decent price if the food reflects that but this is not the case. I ordered Alfredo with crab $22 my husband got the 1/2lb build your own $15 plus $2 for bacon. Of course add on's are extra but the up tick is a bit much in comparison to many other places. The burger was bland, absolutely no flavor not even salt and pepper. The fries tasted like they were cooked in older oil and again no flavor at all. My Alfredo sauce was completely bland. I would compare it to the frozen Alfredo dinner's you can get a grocery store and im not even talking the better frozen Alfredo brands. No salt, no pepper, no garlic nothing. I did like how nicely the crab was shredded in the sauce versus chunks of crab. The little side salad could use cheese and homemade ranch would have been nice but not necessary. The problem is they are charging higher end prices for extremely sub par food at best. Angus and Ales Alfredo is much better. As for burgers Berkeley Springs has a variety of places that have flavorful burgers to choose. Maybe with time their food and prices will improve. Unfortunately we will not be ordering again. I can not rate service or atmosphere as we ordered take out. What I’m rating is specifically the food.

We are vacationing here and decided to try Stubbys as our dinner this evening.

To be perfectly honest the best food was the kids meals. Everything else was horrible.

Winner winner chicken dinner well, the chicken was burnt, Mac and Cheese had no flavor at all. Green beans were not so good.

Chili wasn’t so bad but the size was not worth the price.

No flavor to the pulled pork.

Burgers no flavor.

And big bird sandwich was not tasty at all.

Mac bowl was basically noodles with cheese on the side and horrible dry chicken.

They did not send one bag out with a hot turkey sandwich and fries as well as a kids meal.

We called and they were very apologetic but, new meals should’ve been made and they weren’t. So needless say to everything was cold.

Fries are not at all good.

I will say for the inconvenience they did send free ice cream back for the kids.

Brand new restaurant right on the main drag coming through Berkley Springs. Seems to be a family team running the kitchen and wait staff as they work to get established and you can tell they're hustling. The interior is cute with a nice amount of tables and a counter. They also have a little ice cream counter serving Hershey ice cream and milkshakes. I had a smoked turkey sandwich which was very tasty. My wife and daughter had the homemade chicken dumpling soup. It's was good but maybe a little on the salty side. The bowl was a generous serving. There's a gravel parking lot behind the building where we parked but didn't see any specific signs of that was their parking or not.
